Re: Shmup of the Month Club 2013 (Castle of Shikigami II)
Thanks for picking this game. I had only played it a little bit before and put it on the back burner. But it's a lot of fun! And a lot of frustration too. Like most shmups.

thanks man. Previously I didn't know how to use the Shiki Attacks well. I'm glad I'm getting so into how this game really works.ZenErik wrote:Thanks for picking this game. Yea. I had very little idea about how the game worked until I played Castle of Shikigami 3 with a friend 2 or 3 weeks back.
Still waiting for my legit PS2 copy to arrive. Hopefully it gets here by tomorrow so I can take it to that same friend's place this weekend. Going to try to get him to participate in SotMC/on this forum since he is a fan of shmups and a cool guy. And likely a lot easier to get along with than myself!

Type A is harder, isn't it? I haven't really played around with it too much.

I find Kim's type A to be harder to use than type B personally.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Noise is either a badass or a masochist. Maybe a badass masochist.

Will try Kim type B now. Though I should probably just not play. This game stresses me out.

Type B is the one you used in the 3-1 video right? I'm terrible with that Shikigami Attack. Leaves me to vulnerable. With B you've got two long laser things that only move up and down when you move up and down, right? With A you've got THREE laser things that SPIN when you move in any direction. You can move em around you like a shield kind of deal, or set em up and stay stationary letting stuff run into em pretty easily.hashiriya1 wrote:noiseredux wrote:Type A Kim. Love him.

But we all play better in different ways I suppose? B just makes no sense to me haha.
Though I'm ok with the title of "badass masochist."
Re: Shmup of the Month Club 2013 (Castle of Shikigami II)
I read this as Castle of Shikigami III at first, then I looked at the title again. I thought it'd be something I have for once.
Oh well, I can play Dragon Spirit next month.
