I'm allergic to autotune. I break out in hives and endure seizures.

Shit. I guess I better stop watching Tom & Jerry and the Looney Toons.
Looney Toons was originally made for adults.

No, the implication that it is limited to adolescents and that it is not an adult behavior.
I know full well that many adults have such behaviour. I just think that it is tragic that it is so widespread and I do think it shows some lack of maturity. I think there is a balance as obviously someone that does whatever he/she wants without ANY concern for anything is not exactly what I'd consider mature either.
But we aren't discussing something that negatively affects others here, really... So if you aren't doing anyone any harm when you do X (such as watching MLP) and don't do it or are internally condition to not like it because you are afraid that people will judge you in some way - perhaps worried that they will judge you as immature (ironically enough)... Wouldn't you think that to be immature, o.pwuiaoc? Genuine question.
I had read that C.S. Lewis quote before and I think it is quite spot on. I don't think Christianity comes into it. C.S. Lewis followed what was stated in your quote anyway: he put childish ways behind him. Including abandoning concerns of "Is this (that I am doing / that I want to do) childish?".
EDIT: And I missed the joke!
Ivo.

I learned about that a long time ago and that has nothing to do with the perception of the show today. It's been targeted towards children for a while now.

You can thank "adult" cartoons like South Park and Family Guy for that. There's less demand for shows that truly appeal to people of all ages in today's segregated TV. Kid's shows are intended for kids only, and the same goes for adult shows. There are far fewer shows that are for everyone, and as a result some of the old stuff like Looney Tunes and Rocky & Bullwinkle have been retroactively re-categorized as children's material, and marketed as thus. Stupid, yes, but there it is.

I agree. This reminds me of the WWE and those who complain about it's current PG product. It's funny because back in the day it was rated PG and everybody, including children and adults enjoyed the product with no complaints. Then it became TV-14 in the late 90s and it hit its all time popularity. Now that it's been PG again, people (mainly men) are whining about the product and saying that it needs to be TV-14 to be good again. Wrestling doesn't need to be TV-14 to be good. Sure, I like the attitude era and the crowds nowadays suck and aren't as loud as they used to be, but ridiculous claims such as these are still made.
I get called immature just because I watch cartoons like the ones you mentioned. It's ridiculous. I don't really care for South Park and Family as well. I do like King of the Hill though. This even applies to video games. If I'm seen playing 2D games (basically games that aren't dark or realistic looking) I get remarks along the lines of 'kiddie games'.

Since this is the designated pony topic, I thought I'd bring this here.
I don't watch the show, nor do I plan to get involved in the discussion about it. I just want to say that someone played this for me the other day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t38DPnkD ... ion_434500And its pretty damn cool.
That is all.
