I started up Bomberman Hero on the Wii VC, since it was a game I played when I was young, but haven't played in over 10 years.
I was actually really enjoying it, but the game does not save! I mean, it saves, but when I exit and re-enter, the save is gone. The only VC game I have that does this too.

Nintendo 64 and Neo Geo games don't suspend when you leave like the other consoles. You have to do an in-game save if you want to keep your data.dunpeal2064 wrote:I started up Bomberman Hero on the Wii VC, since it was a game I played when I was young, but haven't played in over 10 years.

I did do an in-game save though! When I back out to the main menu of the game, without going to the Wii menu, the save is there, but when I exit to menu and return, my save is gone.alienjesus wrote:Nintendo 64 and Neo Geo games don't suspend when you leave like the other consoles. Does anyone else have Bomberman Hero on the VC? My saves work for my other games, so I'm wondering if saving is just broken in this game, or if I just really suck. I know games that require a Controller Pak don't save properly, but I don't remember this game needing one.

Re: What platformer are you playing now?
started up Rockman X3 on Saturn yesterday. Seems pretty awesome so far. I spent about 2 hrs just messing around, exploring levels (got the leg upgrade already) and trying to figure out bosses. Thus far, bosses seem tougher than in X4 -- I must have have made it to Acid Seaforce four or five times with no success in taking him out. At any rate, super fun game -- I just wish I didn't have to deal with the stupid password system.

Got stuck into Wario Land 3 yesterday. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much, especially as I couldn't stand Wario Land 2, but this one so far just seems significantly better made. Definitely enjoying it a lot more, even if I still think it has its problems.

Mega Man X 3 is fun. It has more secrets than other entries in the series. Secret bosses, secret armors, upgrades, etc. You should try the Super Nintendo version some time. I personally think it had a better soundtrack than the CD based versions of the game, which all feature a sort of remixed version of it. Your opinion may differ though. Here's an example for comparison:noiseredux wrote:started up Rockman X3 on Saturn yesterday. Seems pretty awesome so far. That's both versions of Zero's theme song. Somehow the SNES soundtrack seems more rock oriented and dramatic. There's more of an edge to it IMO. Personally, I hate the CD based versions' soundtrack. I think Xeogred does too if I remember correctly

Re: What platformer are you playing now?
I am neck-deep in Cave Story 3D (3DS). I have already viewed the bad ending, and I am working my way toward what I think will be the final boss. (I am in The Plantation.) I am enjoying it so far, although it is much more linear than I anticipated when I started the game.
