Laziness. I like scrolling down to read a thread and seeing the pictures in-line.

For most pictures sure. I meant for gigantic ones. Of course if people would just size things appropriately and some of the templates didn't give you a skinny newspaper column view.

Oh I see. Yes, I agree that people shouldn't be posting gigantic pics. Seems that a lot of people still don't "get" this. It amazes me how many people still send 5-10MB pictures via email, etc. An image hosting site like tinypic.com does a good job of resizing pictures.

Agree, RESIZE the pictures to a max of 725 wide to keep the Margins from doing the Ping Pong read. I think all the layouts except Subsilver 2 reduces the image automatically anyways. All except for any direct picture attachments.
It helps when a picture is right in a post for an easy look. Sometimes a linked pic takes you thru a bloated photo site which you have to do a couple of more clicks to see the full large image for a study. Meanwhile the point of the original post or Guide then becomes cumbersome to deal with.
Attached large pictures are still displayed in full which stretches the margins. It is better if they are hidden under the Show Button and can be viewed NOT reduced which is the situation now. Hiding a large unreduced pic under a Show Spoiler button allows for an easy read and a great tool to view a full sized detailed picture.
Try choosing as
Hobie's selection, the
Subsilver Layout and see how it works out here:

Subsilver, How many will click the link and load the other page vs a direct pic in this Reply?

No one, because for all we know, that's as big as it gets. Maybe if you had a direct link for the full-size image underneath, we would know.

Also a direct link there for size comparison. Try it in Subsilver. Is someone tweaking this? The show pic grew slightly in the default layout. Still not the FULL image but the margin now pops out a little.

I don't think it really matters much anyway. We're here to talk about games, not create romances, no matter how many times budsmoka's fabulously terrible advice thread is brought up. People can put it in their profile if they want to.
If you want to hedge a guess, you'll be right most of the time if you guess male though.

I'm not looking for internet romance, thank you

There are gender indicators in my writing and detective forums. But whatever. Doesn't matter

Suggestion?

Could we possibly get a section of the site for articles on older movies? (Retro movies?) It could be built similarly to the game portion without any problems I could forsee, and could be broken up by genre or type of media it came out on. I'd love to be able to see into more grindhouse movies, and great classic horror. (The only good "Night of the Living Dead" is the original, damnit.)
Just a thought. I mean, we could do grindhouse movie of the week or something. I would love to see this.

we have a movies thread, and I'd guess that the large majority of the discussion there is of movies from at least ten years ago, with many us us watching grindhouse, golden age, noir, and other "retro" films. You should jump in to the discussion there:

Also the movies thread only gets what, 10-15 posts a week? Making a section for it would be a barren wastelend.
