I don't think that rumor's gonna hold up. I have a feeling this game will undoubtedly sell well.

Where was this said, exactly? I've been religiously following MvC3 news on a few sites, and haven't heard about this.

Seems like a waste of time to do it on the Wii, honestly. What they should do is make a MvC compilation for the Wii containing everything from X-Men: Children of the Atom to Marvel vs Capcom 2. Hell, throw CPS-1's The Punisher on there for good measure. I'd pay $50-60 for that, easily.

Yeah, I have heard that one. I'd be in full support as well, because more arcade units means more serious players will be exploring the game. Hopefully it won't end up as broken as XvSF or MvC2 after they were fully explored, though.

The ridiculous combo videos (granted, for a non-finalized product) look... well, ridiculous.
The game combines the melee frenzy of MvC1 with the projectile frenzy of MvC2. This makes for a very chaotic style of play and either the handicap is set a little high (again, unfinished product) or combos do too much damage.

Just a quick question. Anyone here try the game out prior to release? Like any demos at Comic-Con or anything? I'm buying day one regardless, I have it all set up, but I just wanna clarify that this game is pretty good, and not crap like MVC2 is in my opinion. Or how was the feedback from the people who did try it at Comic-Con?

Well, I gave in and preordered a copy of the game. Thanks Dsh for the promo code; total was almost $68 for me.

Veno I played a very old build at Evo this year. I am more into simple systems, slower gamespeed i.e. Super Turbo, Super Street Fighter 4, or some KOF 98 at high level play.

That said most top players right now feel like it is a great "sandbox" fighting game. So many options to explore its sick. Problem with that is we'll find out how broken the game is after 2 million people get their hands on training mode. It seems to me X-factor is TOO good and if used right could really break a few characters.

I'm sitting this game out. After 3 years of tourney play at SF4 and Super Turbo/HDR I don't want to learn a new game at that level. Recent fighting games have too many characters to learn matchups for at high level. Street Fighter 4 has 35 right now its just too much for the average player. Kind of sucks to get blown up because you didn't know a rare match not because you aren't any good.

I'm sure I can learn a few characters execution no problem, its researching another huge cast I just don't want to do. Might play it casually to check out the cool graphics and enjoy learning some cool combo's but thats it.

After playing the game (it was leaked on the 360) at a friend who has a flashed 360, for around 3 hours today I have to say, this is a day 1 buy. Plays so smoothly and the combo's are utterly awesome.

It feels like Tat vs Cap but with so much more depth (TvC is still awesome), took me awhile to get use the assist and tag system since I was use to MvC2, I wish I did'nt have a little puppy to look after or I would be over there now playing.

Utterly brilliant.
