I did not know that Gamestop throws out cases and manuals for games. That is fucking bullshit.

I am adding Gamestop to my boycott list today. I'm completely serious. I like video games too much to buy from Gamestop.

I'm store X we have 350sq feet of space for all our games. We have 900-2000 PS2 games, where will we put out cases for the under $5 games then?

Cases are only tossed for the worthless and ultra common of the commons.

Years ago there were far less PS2 games and no 360, Wii or PS3 to also cannibalize shelf space.

My store has PS2, PS3, GBA, Gamecube, DS, Wii, Xbox 360, PC, Game Guides and shittons of accesories.

All of this in an incredibly small amount of floor space means hell on earth.

My local Play N Trade carries all those games plus more, and they don't throw away anything. I'm not sure of the square footage, but it's a damn small store.

That's no excuse. If the store doesn't have the room, then the store shouldn't accept the trade ins.

That doesn't make it OK in my book. But on the other hand, Game Stop loves to put a shit ton of hard to remove stickers all over cases, so it's not like I agree with when they KEEP cases either.

If I had it my way we'd find the room, but I can't really do anything. Company policy is take the trade-ins no exceptions.

I think it would be a rare store specific situation where things would be tossed. I still know a few people that work for that company and that is quite opposite of policy. That is why they push so hard to make a case of some sort for games traded in with just the disc.
