Well, government does pay teacher salaries, so it isn't all that market driven. However, I do hear time and again that being a teacher is a fall-back plan for those who may not get a career they want. Poli-sci, history, sciences etc... How many times have you heard, well, I want to do X, but if that doesn't work out, I can be a teacher.

There are many teachers who are passionate about teaching and it is a calling for them. But there are also many who are just doing it because it is a job that pays. This can be compounded with issues with parents, administration, politics and such. There are so many factors that go into this discussion.

Well, lost someone who was supposed to be a "friend' but was always a dick to me. I hung out with him for about the last 3 years only because some other friends hung with him, and I didn't have a choice. But after the other night, I'm not hanging with him ever again. I'm tired of his shit, and I'm just done with messing with it.

Doesn't sound like much of a loss.

It's not, and its a longtime coming, but the arguments that night nearly got physical.

So I've been in a shitty mood for the last couple of months since I found out my ex got pregnant shortly after we broke up. I don't know why, I should feel relieved that I'm not forced to be tied to her and lies and manipulation for the duration of the life of another human being.

All I can think about is what if I had gotten her pregnant? She always said she never wanted to have kids and yet had a kid less than a year after we broke up.

So yea I think I'm going to get a vasectomy in the next couple of weeks. I mean hell I've never even wanted to entertain the thought of having kids. When my dad got his done when I was maybe 7 or 8 I thought it was a great idea. And hey if I do end up changing my mind down the line a reversal is only about $3000 out of pocket and if I can't afford that I don't think should be trying to have a kid in the first place!

Spoiler contains home surgery joke
I could do it myself with but I'm short the tools I need to do it: vice, power drill, and soldering iron.
