:D it was my gf's birthday yesterday. I bought her a Winnie-the-Pooh book and admission for both of us to a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) class. We'll be starting in the fall!

I've always heard referred to as ESL. Perhaps different degrees?

ESL = teaching students in America how to speak English

TEFL = teaching students in other countries how to speak English

Sounds like Florida. Voldemort Our Governor cut pay for teachers 3 years in a row, then raised it a smidge his fourth year so that when running for re-election he could claim he was pro-education.

Yup. It's all about trying to get votes.

Teachers are literally crying over this as they will not receive what was promised. It is about but the money, but it isn't. It's about respect, being felt rewarded for their work, and then felt being lied to.

And as the article shows, some teachers will be making less money in 2015.

What to do? You can boycott, but teachers (the ones I know) don't want to at the expense of education. The situation stinks. So does the guy who calls himself the situation.

Stupor: Took a nap and woke up to my phone ringing. My first thought was "Shit! It's after 12pm and I was supposed to have a meeting at 11am!". I was out of sorts, as my meeting with a colleague is tomorrow.

I should not talk on the phone fresh out of sleep.

Smile: Only a little while until I see TMNT.

Sometimes, when I think about what the hell I want to do with my life, I consider being a teacher. I mean, I've got a useless liberal arts degree so it makes sense, right? (Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing, for those wondering.)

Then I see stuff like the above article and I'm all like:
