Yup. Also depends on the owners.

But to "play it safe" shave yo stuff. Especially with any corporate company.

Hate to say it, but "look the part" plays a lot into interviews. It's stereotyping, but true. I guy who walks in with a scraggly beard and smells like coffee might land a job in graphic design, but probably wouldn't land a COO position.

I'm going to college, getting my degree, then going the hell off by myself.
Sorry to hear man - If there's something we can do, let us know.

Also, just be careful - college loans are great for sticking people exactly where they are. I wanted to go off by myself, but NOPE, I am an indentured servant to my loan providers for the next 6 years, and that's with me throwing every spare cent I have at my loans. That said, although I hated classes, I learned much at college, and sincerely hope you do, too!

I think it went well. I've just never experienced so much sarcasm in an
interview. When the first thing someone asks you is, "So, what did you hope to gain by coming in here with a beard?" You just know you're in for a bizzaro ride. :?

It depends on if you are growing a beard, or have a beard.

People in HR, or interviewers usually have a check sheet that has to be filled out, and "Appearance" is a main category. Most companies want you to be clean shaven, as you can always grow a beard after you have obtained the job.
Yeah, I get it. My beard is established but super tidy. The guy interviewing me said he was just busting my ballz, but it definitely set a tone for the rest of the interview.

Maybe he was being "cheeky" cause he didn't have a beard? Eh? EH? Come on now! EH?????

    That's good.

Feed off that tone and bust their ballz as well. No idea why, but some people feed off that energy of scrutiny. Some people actually want you to be a dick. I don't know why, but some people love people who want to 1-up them.

    Play the game. Then win.
