Finally, finally, finally found a non-TMSS Genesis in the wild for $15 and a trade of a VA7 I got at a yardsale for $1.

I still have that same model genesis and never hooked it up to see how the sound quality is. I use my jvc xeye since it's more convenient for me

Finally got a backlit GBA SP from Craiglist for $30. I tried to make it $25 but he said he had another buyer. Fine, but the only thing is this one is pretty banged up and while not his fault I assumed it was silver. It's that Easter-y pale blue with a lot of scratches on the front when closed. Almost looks like a 5 year old took a screw driver to it for a couple seconds before an adult realized and took it away from them. The only other one I've seen around is $50 at a retail shop so I guess this is fine, I just wish the guy would've been more up front.

Screen is probably a 7 or 8 out of 10 which is fine. Oddly enough it looks like there's a small hair on the screen but it's like embedded in there and won't come off.

I have this in both my GBA SP, does my head in.

You can 'tap it around' by tapping on the screen and getting out of view, pain in the ass.

you can easily find replacement cases for SP online for cheap, in any color you like.

I had a Model 2 as a kid and even though it was one of the better small-motherboard models it really makes a world of difference. Especially when using the headphone jack to hook it up to some nice speakers.

Great grab (and price!).

Excuse my ignorance, but what does "non-TMSS" mean?

TradeMark Security System

It was an early region lockout and anti piracy measure in the Genesis/Megadrive life. If I remember correctly, only something like 14 games are really affected by it.
