Man, FF XIII 2 has so much time travel stuff in it that I'm half expecting a blue Tardis to show up

Public service announcement for FF XIII-2

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN'T redo everything in FF XIII-2 and there ARE missables. I know everyone keeps saying over and over that you can redo any stage and reset events so it's impossible to miss getting anything in the game. Just want to put an end to that myth. In the archylte steppe stage, there is a boss fight that yields one of two items. However, you can never repeat that fight again after you beat him. So it is literally impossible to get every item in the game :(

Damn it Square Enix

Also, there are a few live event triggers (a.k.a scenes where players have to choose how to respond to someone's dialog) that can't be repeated ever again. Not a big deal, but irritates me that you can't see every dialog option play out in those parts unless you keep reloading your save to try them all before proceeding with the game. So that whole reset thing that everybody keeps going on about with this game is bull. You can't reset every single event in the game. Certain things happen and are just done, period, forever.

On a more positive note, I finished the Requiem of the Goddess DLC. I skipped the cutscenes since I was warned about it having end game spoilers. Without the cutscenes, it just seems like a rehash of stuff you see at the beginning of the game. For finishing it, I got a pretty badass new party member. Definitely worth the money, it's fun to play through as well as you get too pretty epic boss fights, and it features an interesting level mechanic. You gain levels whether you win or lose the battles, eventually you max out at level 10, but you can tweak these levels to make the fights easier or harder. You even can unlock a level 0, which would probably take like an hour to win at that low level, assuming you even can win. There is no party for these fights eachother, which I thought was interesting. It's basically a one on one dual

So now that we are nearing the end of this console generation, what have been your favorite japanese rpgs?

And what have been your favorite portable ones?

What are the rpgs you'll remember this generation for? I'd like to focus on japanese ones cause it seems the good western ones are already pretty well known(Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Borderlands, Dragon Age, etc.)

Radiant Historia was pretty awesome. Unlike most time travel RPGs this one was over a fairly narrow timeframe so it really felt like you were correcting the mistakes you've made in the past.

I've been grinding for about 3 hrs now in Luciennes Quest, whats the deal with this game?

I'm trying to enter ""The hole of goat"" and goat boy in the cave wont let me pass?

I've spoken to everyone in the previous village and played through that red tower on the world map a few times heading to the hole goat.
Has anyone played this and knows if this is some type glitch or am I missing something?
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Best JRPGs of this generation? Ys Seven (PSP), Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Wii), Radiant Historia (DS), Eternal Sonata (Xbox 360/PS3 though I believe the PS3 version is better).

Sounds tedious bro, sorry.
