I think Microsoft would be best served in the future by making the Xbox family into a steam-machine like series. A gaming focused version of windows 10, with easy swap upgrade packs ala the ram upgrade for N64.

You have your new Xbox 2 running windows 10 and want to upgrade so you can play COD: 14, so you buy an upgrade pack, that contains clear instructions for how to swap out all of the necessary parts in the clean little plastic casings that slide into the side of the console.

Or if they don't do it I might just have to get some of my computer science friends together and see if we could get something like that running...

I think this community is just weighted towards the games that Sony has. I think you could easily find many console gamers that say the same thing about Xbox. "PS4 is great and all, but it doesn't have Forza or Gears of War." And saying that those are available on PC isn't an argument; many people only buy consoles, "because PC is too complicated" or only buy 1 system, be it PC or console, because that's all they can afford. Scorpio won't be the end of Microsoft's foray into console gaming, unless they just decide that they don't want to do it any more, it won't be because of some overreach.

+1

This is exactly why I got the xbox one, Gears 4! Honestly it's the only exclusive I care about so far this gen. All the other games I want to play are on both and I don't really care about which one had slightly better specs.

Also backwards compatibility is great, my 360 library didn't have to get shifted to the back room.

It's nice to know they're still working on it then :)
Not having an Xbone, I've never really tried to keep up on it. Are there any really killer apps for the 360 that still aren't BC for whatever reason?

um, I know a lot of people are wanting Black Ops II to be BC. To be honest, I really only pay attention to the Xbox stuff that I can't play on PC so I'm not the best one to ask. But I love that there's things like Red Dead Redemption, Catherine, Symphony Of The Night, SSX, Mark Of The Wolves, and so on. I check out the BC list every time it's updated just to see if I now have access to more stuff I didn't before.

Black Ops II is apparently in this spring sale so perhaps there's news noise?
