Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I never read the comics, but I hated the movie. Sorry, man.marurun wrote:Another very good comic adaptation was Scott Pilgrim vs the World. A lot was changed in the movie, but I think it was changed for the better (for a movie, anyway). But I think the overall tone of the comic is probably better suited to movie adaptation than Watchmen.

It's not for everyone. I get that.noiseredux wrote:I never read the comics, but I hated the movie. Sorry, man.marurun wrote:Another very good comic adaptation was Scott Pilgrim vs the World. I didn't realize it was a comic book movie until many years after the fact.Ack wrote:Road to Perdition was also a great comic book movie.

Yep, and the comic was inspired directly by the Lone Wolf and Cub manga, so in a way, it's a comic book movie of a manga comic book.MrPopo wrote:I didn't realize it was a comic book movie until many years after the fact.Ack wrote:Road to Perdition was also a great comic book movie.

I finally got around to seeing "Hidden Figures" this weekend. It was an excellent film and I highly recommend it to anyone with any interest in the space race, civil rights, women's rights, or history in general. It does not shy away from any of the casual racism and sexism of the era.

idk, I'm more into overt racism and sexism, tbh

Good to know. I've been very interested in checking this one out since seeing the first previews.MrPopo wrote:I finally got around to seeing "Hidden Figures" this weekend. Oh, it's very overt. It's just super casual. Sort of "that's just the way the world works".TSTR wrote:idk, I'm more into overt racism and sexism, tbh

Sounds like a real time warp, then. Always enjoy when a movie can nail its period.
