On the other hand, a large number of third party votes may indicate interest in bringing them back up next year or even separately from SotM.

Or they could indicate how crappy the other choices are.

A votes a vote, what can I say people make bad decisions, I don't think I was familiar with those choices and rules are you have to pick 1 from each batch.

So in other words I had to pick one of your choices.
Nah but seriously should I change to Blue Hawk?

Well, Baryon was actually my choice to play for the month. But the way the votes are working out made Blue Hawk a contender. I'm just having fun campaigning against Homura

I have an idea. Why don't the most active 11 members from last year just pick a game for the group to play?

maybe because it would be worthwhile to bring in new people and new ideas? The "Active 11" have already narrowed the field considerably.

^Right, and then the active 11 have made it clear which of their nominations they'd like to see win and have in some cases gone to considerable ends to make sure their preferred choice wins.

The only folks who aren't going to get the 1 game they would have picked are the ones who truly didn't care between the 3 they nominated. I've had fun with it, but lets be serious for a moment, this has been a rather silly exercise. If the nominations had been made and people just voted, then yeah, that would've been legit - that isn't what happened.

What the hell are you talking about? The nominations were made and people did vote. Some people changed their votes upon learning new information (e.g. dunpeal thought Crimzon Clover was slated for January, I changed to Chaos Field becasue I decided I'd rather do a boss rush game rather than just picking what my buddy would prefer, etc.). Your "serious moment" sounds like sour grapes that your preferred method of picking and some of your preferred games might not get chosen.
