You assume anyone would actually want to PLAY Contra Force.

Contra Force is terrible.

It's only expensive because most people don't know it exists. Nobody buys that game because they want to play it.

I love having a friend who does hideous amounts of buying and selling regularly. Every now and again he sends me text messages like "I got you The Dame Was Loaded for CDi"

He mainly does it because he has no idea what to price stuff like that at, it's not like there's a ton of copies going through so Pricecharting can have a decent guess. Usually he either gets them in lots or if they're really cheap and then passes them on to me at cost.

Of course the flipside is when he goes "So I have a boxed copy of Earthbound" or something silly like that, giving me right of first refusal and I have to go "Of course I want it... but I can in no way afford it :(" Because while he's certainly willing to give me a friend break, the dude still wants to make SOME money on stuff like that, and I can't blame him.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

These people who sell games under market price, are they specifically in the videogames market or do they just sell anything to turn a profit?

If they are in the videogames market specifically and they do not know which rare items they have that can fetch top dollar, then they shouldn't be in business in the first place.

Some people sell on to support their collect habits, heaps of collectors who do this sell below the market value, while still turning a profit.

Not that long ago I bought a few gamecube games at a market for $2 a piece, I had Zelda already so I sold it on a forum for $15 + Postage. I get the other games I purchased on the day for free from the profits, someone who is into collecting for the games now has a game they wanted at a decent price. Win + Win

In the case of the guy at the market, I imagine he thought it was Contra (1), which sells for like $20.

it's funny you should mention that, because right next to the unmarked copy of Contra Force that I bought, he had copies of Contra and Super C that were priced at $15 each.
