i just don't know how i feel about paying $40 to see half of slayer and the worst iteration of exodus. i'm not a big fan of the modern exodus stuff. suicidal tendencies has been awful since "how can i laugh tomorrow" so that's not really a dealbreaker either.
i've also seen slayer enough, and the one time i saw them on the Still Reigning tour had the greatest setlist i'm ever likely to see them play, with the original lineup, so, idk. i might go.
i saw Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper for $30 to put things in perspective.

My buddy also has the Slayer eagle tattoo on his back, so you could say his opinion is a little biased.

oh come on at least get the classic sword pentagram or at the VERY least the Divine Intervention skull
'Course I don't really like anything Slayer's done since Reign in Blood though.

How is this the worst iteration of Exodus? With Rob Dukes gone and Zetro back it's much better then it was. I have seen them live already this year and they didn't play anything off the Rob Dukes material.

honestly i haven't paid attention to exodus in a few years and i had no idea Rob Dukes was out and Souza was back in. it was a nice surprise when i went to the show.
oh yeah, i went to the show. it was cool. i got to pit in my leather jacket to a bunch of good songs so i had a good time. got a free ticket too

I on the other hand didn't go see DRI after all. There were going to be tons of openers, most were mediocre, doors opened at like 8pm and I figured it wasn't worth sitting through a bunch of kinda meh bands to wait for DRI to come on at like midnight and then be too sleepy to actually enjoy it.
Plus I decided I'd rather save my money for the Devin Townsend show next week. One of my favorite artists of all time and I've never actually gotten a chance to see him in person.

I probably shouldn't even touch this buuuuuut people are trying to make #MetalGate a thing now...

The article goes from sad to hilarious when the author mentions that metal has historically avoided "social issues." Apparently grindcore never existed. Or metalcore. Or crossover thrash. Or metal in general. Good lord.

I was listening to Testament's Native Blood just yesterday. Metal has touched social issues more than most music. They must be thinking of Hair metal.
I just checked out the tag and I can't even say what's going on, it really seems like some kind of joke. Made me think of Nervosa though, anybody checked them out?
