I was living with my folks at the time, so while I was excited (I literally started ripping the ugly-as-sin carpets out with my bare hands within 30 minutes of walking in the door), I was in NO rush to move in. Ripped the carpet out, refinished the floors, painted every room on the main floor (it's a cape cod) including taking down wallpaper in the kitchen, replaced the bathroom vanity, took down the curtain rods and put up blinds... THEN I was ready to move in. Probably about 6 weeks or so after we closed

But like I say, I was living with my folks, so not like I was paying rent. And I get along fantastically with my folks, so I wasn't really in a rush to get out of there (I'm still over there ~2 times a week for a couple hours a night to have dinner and hang out)
I know what you mean. I have to pay rent and living with my parents is ok. My wife and kids get along great with my parents but I want my own house now. I just need to save a little at a time in which im doing, and it may take a few years but I feel like im in the long haul.
See my parents lived above from my moms parents in a 1 bedroom apartment. They made the living room into a bedroom and usually the living room was my parents bedroom. It was very memorable and warm and yes it was crowded but I have great memories of that old house.
Now life has come full circle. I the youngest of the three boys live with my parents in a 1 bedroom sub apartment and it does suck but if I wasn't here then I believe my dad would have been gone by now from depression. So I feel like god put us here to help them in which we do.
Unlike my parents did not do, Its time for me to really budget and save because lets say in case anything happens to my parents and we have to sell the house I don't want to be like them and have no money when my grandparents die. So its like I want a house bad but I think I want to be financially safe more.
Anyways im also happy for knowing blu is hooking me up and im very grateful for that

Not that much different. My wife and slept on a mattress so we could easily relocate our bedroom to which ever room we were not painting or remodeling at the moment. We also had stuff in boxes for well over two years...

See since my wife and I are moving less than two miles away we aren't even going to use many boxes... Or a truck. We'll just fill the cars and make multiple trips back and forth. It's going to feel like moving into a dorm room... repeatedly. I estimate it taking about a week. Then we are replacing the carpets in the basement before we situate things down there. I won't have a "game room" until sometime in August.

:? A bachelor party I'm attending Saturday was cancelled earlier in the week and then was "back on" two days later. In the meantime I had told my mother-in-law she didn't have to babysit Iris and had made other plans for that night I now have to cancel myself.

Smile: I had a wonderful time celebrating my 21st birthday yesterday! My boyfriend took me out to have my first drink, and then we went to go see a movie. :)

Hey happy birthday! What was the drink and how was it? Hopefully you didn't go too overboard! Also what movie did you see!?

 so frustrated with my emulators. First things first, using KFusion to run my sega CD games and now, whenever I try to load a save state, it crashes on me. Tried to save a save state...and it crashes on me. Tried to load a genesis rom? Crashes on me! reinstalled the emulator....and it still crashes on me..grah!!!!!

Well, I was single when I bought my house and I couldn't wait to get in. But I didn't do the "sleep in the empty house" thing. I closed on a Friday, was at a LAN party on the Saturday, and then all my stuff was moved Sunday. It helped that the place was turnkey ready, so the only things I've done to it have been improvements/additions (heat pump, shelving, etc).

Well I'm stunned.

Looks like Bosh to Houston too, according to Marc Stein.

Lebron informed the Cleveland police ahead of time to be prepared, so at that point it was kind of a gimme. Still surprising though.
