If the cops actually would have showed up, odds are that I would have known them. I worked at IHOP at the time, and fed nearly all of the night shift for my area and gave them free coffee, and a few of my relatives are police officers. I would have been one too if we haven't have moved here.

Now that would have been even better.

Unfortunately, they waited until I was standing in the back of the Uhaul the day we were leaving to call me back after a year and a half of monthly application submissions, letters of recommendations from JR ROTC instructors and various AF Veterans that spoke for my character, and certificates from two physical training courses. I really wanted that job, but at that point Jinx had already signed the contract. It's okay though, because now I'm going to college to be a Mortician, which I feel is more of a calling to me than being an officer.

You have to college to be a funeral director?

Edit: I personally don't really like cops. They always abuse their power.

To be licensed, you do, but if you are already in the business (family business usually) they let you work for them without a licence, which is generally legal. This is due to a serious lack of governing laws in some states, but may be changed soon. My college education will include an Associates Degree in Applied Science of Funeral Directing and an Embalmer's licence, meaning I both embalm bodies and organize funerals. You can go for one or the other, but both opens up more career opportunities, and sets the foundation for continuing studies in Mortuary Science.

As for the cop thing, some do, some don't. It's not fair to make a generalization about abuse of power to the police that actually put their lives on the line to ensure the public's safety. I'm no stranger to asshole cops, but I strongly dislike the blanket statement that they are all pricks.

edit because I just realized that I said Funeral directing twice instead of Funeral Directing and Embalming.

Correct. Only 90 percent of them are pricks. More or less...

Well you learn something everyday. Idk if it's just the cali cops cause all of them are assholes here. I don't mean this in a racist way but most of the time white cops tend to have more of an attitude. That is statistically for me personally.

Edit: I have had only 1 good experience w/ the cops. This one time a cop found a nickle bag on me and instead of giving me a ticket, he let me go with a warning. :P

This took place in Louisiana. Haven't had a case of mistaken gender in Tx yet.
