Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So, I got Mortal Kombat Vita and after struggling trying to find the rhythm to the game, I can say I very much enjoy it. I'm not sure I enjoy it as much as Injustice, but, I definitely find myself liking the NetherRealm feel more than the typical fast Capcom style fighting games.
Too bad the character models are so hideous. It seems like they did some good art for the game that I can't see well in this version. And what's up with the ultra low resolution menus?

Whoa, I thought all handheld Mortal Kombats were unplayable messes! Is this one worth checking out despite its issues?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:So, I got Mortal Kombat Vita and after struggling trying to find the rhythm to the game, I can say I very much enjoy it. It's ugly but, it runs at a full 60fps. As far as I can tell it has exactly the same content as the PS3 version and it plays absolutely great.Ack wrote:Whoa, I thought all handheld Mortal Kombats were unplayable messes! The story mode is the best too. I really enjoyed what I played, I need to pick it up again.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:It's ugly but, it runs at a full 60fps. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I set foot inside a GameStop for the first time in a long time. I haven't been to one since they were still selling PS2 and GameCube games. I really don't belong there now. They sell a lot of used mobile phones now for Android/iOS games. That seemed weird to me. They sell Steam gift cards. They also have a binder of digital downloads for their digital distribution service that you can look through, I guess for people that don't know how to use the internet but still play downloaded digital PC games? Is that an actual demographic? I have my doubts. Other than that, they mostly sold games for systems I don't have, but bought the majority of for PC at a much lower price.
Also the place was swimming with rambunctious children. I felt like I was expected to be a supervising adult rather than a customer. I'm just getting too old for this crap. I actually felt a twinge of shame just for being seen within that store now, which is weird because I used to love to go there. I really am better off doing things through digital download where I can privately purchase and play my games.

Last time I went to a Game Stop is was also like a gymboree, and the store seemed to sell more accessories than games. As Bob Dylan said "The times they are a changing".
They also had an entire shelf space for Beats by Dre headphones. To me those things are the equivalent of wearing a pair of Air Jordans in the late 80's: you are asking to get mugged (yo money, what size are those?).
I'm assuming stick up kids still exist, and if they do, I'm sure they'd love a set of $200+ headphones.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance sure has jumped in price. I felt I was kind of overpaying a few years ago when I got it for $35.

Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention there was a whole section devoted to Sky Landers toys.Luke wrote:*insert Danny Glover gif*J T wrote:I'm just getting too old for this crap.
