I might now that I have a Retron 5!Exhuminator wrote:Do you even fan trans bro?prfsnl_gmr wrote:Who knows? They're all in Japanese!
EDIT:
Perhaps I should do a fan translation of Tecmo's Secret of the Stars where all of the text is replaced with William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch. Would that make the game better or worse?

Have you ever played Lufia or Lufia II?prfsnl_gmr wrote: Who knows? They're all in Japanese!
The only 16-bit RPGs with stories I would consider "good" are Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. Even then, both of those games rely more on atmosphere and characterization than plot, and I don't think that the stories in either really rise much above pulp.

I love "the plot twist" in Lufia.
Re: Games Beaten 2015
If you play them out of order, the beginning of Lufia hits you in the nuts.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I love "the plot twist" in Lufia.

Interesting. My list is about 10 times longer than that.
Also, you should play Exile ASAP. It's like 5 hours long.

I suspect that what our lists of "essential" 16-bit JRPGs varies tremendously.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Interesting. My list is about 10 times longer than that.![]()
