Speaking of backwards compatibility, as someone that skipped getting a 360, what are some good titles that should I be on the lookout for? I'm primarily looking for some straight-up exclusives, console exclusives, and superior ports.
So far my working list is:
Halo Reach
Tales of Vesperia
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Cave Shmups
What else should I be on the lookout for in case it makes the backwards compatibility list?
Xbox One

A larger hard drive. The 360 discs kick a digital download version.bmoc wrote:Speaking of backwards compatibility, as someone that skipped getting a 360, what are some good titles that should I be on the lookout for? Some solid exclusives:
Alan Wake(Although it now has a PC port as well)
Crack Down
Dead Rising(Solid still think 2 is my favorite though and it's multi plat)
Fable Series(All those games are pretty decent rpgs)
Halo ODST(Really like this game has probably the best atmosphere out of all the Halo games)
Infinite Undiscovery(Never gotten around to playing it but I've heard great things)
Lost Odyssey(Another RPG I've heard good things about)
Prey(Solid FPS with some interesting mechanics also available on PC though)

Re: Xbox One
Picked one up today. Some first impressions -
I've played with the demo units a bit over the last little while and while it was hard to tell at those, the controller is super solid. In fact, the whole system feels better built than the PS4. It's quieter by quite a large margin, and the materials feel nicer. Also the new dpad is gravy.
The interface doesn't bother me but doesn't really earn any brownie points either. It's totally fine and that's about it. I like the Metro look over the PS4 look though.
As the internet would say, the Xbone is "hueg like xbox". Seriously the thing is gigantic for a console.

Re: Xbox One
I haven't finished Lost Odyssey but I really enjoyed what I've played of it. I also only played a little bit of Prey, but thought it was a decent shooter. It felt like an older style shooter, which I really liked. I think it's under $5 now, and I think the multiplayer might feature bot matches if you can't find anyone to try it out with you. It's definitely worth the current asking price.Fragems wrote:Some solid exclusives:

Re: Xbox One
This thread has been quiet.
So the Xbox One at some point in the last month became my go-to home console. Although I don't get to sit down and play it much. One thing that really bothers me is I can't go online with it ever really. With my 15GB data cap and the inability to not download game updates, I simply can't connect it to the internet. That's super frustrating. The controller is still easily my favorite thing about the system. The instant resume is real nice when it works too. I'm constantly annoyed that neither of the two big consoles could get this feature working consistently when on the Vita it's never an issue and one of the best features of the system. I ended up finishing Sunset Overdrive and I'm pretty close to getting through Forza 6's career mode. I started GoW Ultimate Edition and while the remaster is very pretty it's still the first Gears and the pacing and clunky nature of that game is a bit off-putting in this day and age. Killer Instinct is super fun but I've sort of tapped out of that too.
I'm thinking about getting Rise of the Tomb Raider but the first one hasn't stuck with me all that well. It was enjoyable for what it was but I don't know that I want more of that.

It's awesome, but yeah it is basically more of the same. There are a few more tombs to raid then in the first one if you liked those.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I'm thinking about getting Rise of the Tomb Raider but the first one hasn't stuck with me all that well. What does Nintendo and Sony have that Microsoft can't compete with?.......
A rich history of games that they can time and time again make money from, such as VC & PSN which cover their early games. Since MS doesn't have this it would be wise to make their consoles fully compatible with many games from Xbox up. In turn Nintendo & Sony can release more of their classics to counter act. In the end everyone's a winner!

Re: Xbox One
Nintendo doesn't really do a lot of competing at all these days. They're pretty much "Hey, we're gonna make this thing. If you want to put your things on our thing, awesome. If you don't, screw you. Our thing is still going to be awesome." And it is. It may not be commercially popular, but Nintendo's hardware is always awesome.TEKTORO wrote:What does Nintendo and Sony have that Microsoft can't compete with?.......
