Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Ordered the parts for the DreamPi Dreamcast Modem (thanks for the suggestion Noise), and will post my results this weekend. Just waiting on the USB 56k modem to get here on Saturday.
Can't believe I'm buying a 56k modem in 2016...

The part that confuses me is the phone line simulator.
Anyway, if you find this to be an easy solution I might be tempted to give up dialup.
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Yeah, circuitry is always a bit foggy to me, but as long as I'm given the exact parts and a relatively clear picture, I can manage it. If it goes well, I'd like to take some nicely detailed images of the setup so people who know nothing about circuits could piece it together. I don't really like the idea of having a 9V battery in the mix, and would probably want to implement some sort of enclosure for the cable in the future. Ideally, i'll eventually ditch the Raspberry Pi all-together and just host the DreamPi service on one of my servers virtual machines, but that's for another day.noiseredux wrote: The part that confuses me is the phone line simulator.
Is Alien Front Online compatible with DreamPi? I've never played it, but playing it online sounds very appealing.

not yet. Alien Front Online and Worms World Party are the two games that have been recently worked on and rumored to be getting online in the future.Ghudda wrote: Is Alien Front Online compatible with DreamPi? I've never played it, but playing it online sounds very appealing.
The only games you can get online with nowadays are:
Doom (homebrew; BBA only)
4x4 Evolution
Maximum Pool
Phantasy Star Online
Planet Ring
Quake III
Sega Swirl (requires POP email)
Starlancer
Toy Racer (BBA only)

I did!fastbilly1 wrote:I am surprised you havent bought a BBA yet Noise.
But I sold it because it only works with Quake III, PSO and the homebrew Doom, while dialup works with ALL of the games I listed except Toy Racer and the homebrew Doom.

I'm hoping that once DreamPi gets all ironed out, someone will mass produce them in nice little boxes that have the telephone line sim built in and requires nothing more than plugging and playing.

So has anyone made a USB to DC adapter for Keyboard and Mouse? Cursory searches lead me to believe no.
Also, please say Outtrigger is on the map for online play. Or is that lost to the annals of history?
