Yeah...I was really hopeful to beat it before school went back into session and while I still could I don't know...I just really want to focus on something and beat it. The thing is I don't want to crack out anything else for retron and have the fear of losing it but I've no other option unless I get a retrode anytime soon(which someone needs to make more adapters for that thing). There's just too much stuff I want to play that's japanese only or cheaper for import but to have a save issue like this after all the updates they did and the fact I'd been saving like I had been I just don't get it. Unless there's some funky saving issues I don't know about that are still happening...

I'd find a save state to download or just YouTube the rest of that sucker and call it done.

I don't know....I'd love to do that but the person I am says don't....I may just give it another go and start from complete scratch next week. Until then I need to find something else to play. I kinda want to play Epic Mickey but I'm not sure at this point...

Well, if you decide to start completely over, go for the PSX version for sure.

Wait, you're playing on a Retron 5? That system autosaves. Is it configured to save to an SD card? And if so..... did that get removed from the console?

It may have but the save is nowhere to be found or recovered from.....I guess this might be the time to find a better patch. DeJap's errors bug me, and the ones that come after it on romhacking take way too many liberties with it(I hate the quality of the english voices they've slapped in there I want the japanese ones). Especially since at this point if I can find a decent one not based on dejap or eng dubbed I'd be happy, and could hopefully beat it out over the next week. I just want to get it done so bad after how hard I worked for where I got....

I will not....I hate the early 3d they just slapped into that version. If you're going to port it like that, improve the quality of the vocals and music. I hate when people slap unnesscary things in these games(fog is another like in FF1 20th anniv edition on psp...there's no reason for that crap)

I've done this a couple times when I had a corrupt save file. No shame with that kind of a time commitment lost.

It's just the overworld that got the 3D, right? I can't see that being a barrier, especially considering the SNES version is just using Mode 7 to try to simulate a little 3D. Everything else is gorgeous, gorgeous spritework. And there are mechanical improvements as well. It's easily the definitive version of the game.

Ok so didn't lose as much work as I thought but still a blow. Apparently had a savestate all the way back at lvl 13 which isn't nearly as bad but still sucks. I'll just have to try my hardest to get through it this way and hopefully get to something else....
