Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night ("new Castlevania")
The answer is easy. Get it on the platform that you want to play it on.Sarge wrote:Y'all are not helping my indecision in this matter.

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night ("new Castlevania")
The answer to that is not clear cut, honestly.
Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night ("new Castlevania")
I wanted to play it on a handheld (originally Vita) and a home console (originally PS4), so the answer was obvious...
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

Why? (Seriously)Sarge wrote:The answer to that is not clear cut, honestly.
You must have one platform you prefer over another (controller, performance, etc) for digital leases on games, just buy it on there.
Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night ("new Castlevania")
Well, mine would be a physical copy, not digital.
And I want the system it performs the best on. Part of me would like to do the cartridge thing on Switch, and I might still do that. I suspect, however, that since the PS4 is effectively a PC, it's going to have the least performance issues. Plus, I'm guessing that the controller may be a little better than the Joy-Cons for this, although the portability aspect is very tempting.
In other words, likely better functioning version versus portability. Tough choice.

I'd keep an eye out up until the last moment. I strongly doubt a game as non-high end pushing of visuals like this one would struggle in the least bit on the Switch. And on there you gain both the card for better minimal loading times, plus portability to wherever you go.

So the 8-bit prequel, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, which was a Kickstarter stretch goal, is going to be released on May 24th for PS4, Xbox One, Vita, Switch, and Steam.
Here's the trailer link:
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
If you backed the project at a certain level, then they said they should be sending out the codes "soon." If not, than the price for everyone else is $9.99.

I'm definitely gonna have to pick that up on Switch. It's giving me all those vibes of old Castlevanias <3

Oh nice! You know, I wasn't even aware of that prequel mini game until a few weeks ago when they mentioned it in an update. And then I got an email from them saying I urgently needed to finish my survey (which was about me apparently not choosing the platform for the prequel). I was confused, because I didn't even know I'd chosen a high enough tier to get that!
