It reminds me a lot of R-Type. The gun-orb around your ship can be locked into place and you can hold down the button to charge and shoot it towards enemies. That's about it.BoneSnapDeez wrote: I couldn't even figure out how to play it properly. The instruction booklet isn't much help. And checkpoints mean no re-spawn credit-feeding.

1. Back to the Future: The Game - PC
2. Syndicate - PC
3. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - PC
4. Resident Evil: Revelations - 3DS
5. The Walking Dead - PC
Total for 2014: 5
Resident Evil: Revelations - 3DS
This game far exceeded my expectations. They somehow kept the engine styling of the newer Resident Evil games but managed to instill the tight corridors and suspense of the earlier games. I did not love the enemy 'blobs' but outside of that I think it is the best RE game since 4.
It took me 9 hours to finish the story mode and the Raid Mode gives you lots of quick pick and play playability for a quick game when you are on the go.
The Walking Dead - PC
Wow, this game can draw you in! You form an emotional attachments to quite a few characters and like the comics and the TV show before it, they just drop randomly and without warning, leaving you to have to move on without giving them too much thought.
The cast of characters is great and Telltale have really taken huge leaps forward with their ability to tell a story, however the adventure elements are stripped down to a bare minimum and the game plays much more like and interactive comic, with far less problem solving, than other adventure games put out by the company.
They really give you some moral dilemmas and you feel torn about what is 'right.

Re: Games Beaten 2014
From what I've seen of the new series' gameplay (I've beaten The Wolf Among Us Ep1 and TWD Season 2 Episode 1) they seem to have some more adventure game elements back in. That's a good thing IMO, they were a little too barebones in Season 1 of TWD, although I loved it too.emwearz wrote:however the adventure elements are stripped down to a bare minimum and the game plays much more like and interactive comic, with far less problem solving, than other adventure games put out by the company.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: Games Beaten 2014
Only one i played on the PS2 was Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and i ended up not liking it, although this was back in 2003 when it was out, i might go back sometimes and retry the PS2 trilogy.Xeogred wrote:How would you compare that one to the PS2 trilogy? I'll probably get through the Future trilogy throughout this year myself.
But the Future series, at least Tools of Destruction was pretty epic and kept my attention.
Re: Games Beaten 2014
That's good to hear! I will most likely wait until the season is complete until I pick up season 2, or at least until GMG offer a steam key for the Season Pass, currently only Telltale vouchers.Stark wrote:From what I've seen of the new series' gameplay (I've beaten The Wolf Among Us Ep1 and TWD Season 2 Episode 1) they seem to have some more adventure game elements back in. 1. Bad Dudes vs. DragonNinja (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
2. Caveman Ninja (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
3. Crude Buster (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
4. Heavy Barrel (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
5. Secret Agent (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
6. Wizard Fire (Wii - Data East Arcade Classics)
7. Super Mario Land (Game Boy)
8. Burning Fight (PlayStation 2 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1)
9. Magician Lord (PlayStation 2 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1)
10. Metal Slug (PlayStation 2 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1)
11. Sengoku (PlayStation 2 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1)
12. Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy (PlayStation 2 - SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1)
13. Metal Slug 4 (PlayStation 2 - Metal Slug 4 & 5)
14. Metal Slug 5 (PlayStation 2 - Metal Slug 4 & 5)
More Metal Slug.
The PS2 versions of Metal Slug 4 and Metal Slug 5 were released as standalone titles in Japan and Europe, but as a compilation in the US. Interestingly enough, they kept each game on its own disc. The Metal Slug Anthology, released two years later, makes this compilation essentially obsolete.
If you've played any of these games you know exactly what to expect - guns, bombs, giant vehicles, and rocket lawnchairs.
I always play as Fio - my favorite character in the series:

Anthology = Emulation (other than MS6)The Metal Slug Anthology, released two years later, makes this compilation essentially obsolete.
Stand alones / Compilations of the two = Ports.

I don't own an actual Neo Geo, so I don't really know the difference. But I own Metal Slug Anthology on PS2 and it seems to play just fine to me, even if it is emulation.emwearz wrote:Anthology = Emulation (other than MS6)The Metal Slug Anthology, released two years later, makes this compilation essentially obsolete.

I don't have the Anthology yet, but hope to acquire it later this year.
