I did some reading in to getting the Neutral route:

Decisions give you + or - alignment points, which cap out at +100 and -100. When the time comes if you are between -8 and +8 inclusive, you are on the neutral route. Here's the tricky part; immediately before your path is chosen you have to make a decision that gives you +10 or -10. So you need to be slightly Law or Chaos, then pick the opposite choice, in order to hit neutral.

There seems to be a guide on GameFAQs that has all the decision points mapped out; I'm going to go through my previous decisions and see where I stand on the scale.

Yea. I am neutral before that decision. But I heard that there was a woman in Ikebukuro that can swing you +10 or -10 the other way if you do it right. Which will effectively put you back where you were. I hope that that is true. Otherwise I am in trouble.

As far as I have heard, it is the 'true' ending of sorts. And longer.

Just got to the split. Still neutral. So I need to be careful because I could accidentally go law if I screw this up. I didn't want to use a guide, but I think I will to make sure I get on the desired path.

I was poking around the GameFAQs boards, and there's a few good threads on how to go Neutral with a minimum of spoilers/agonizing over your decisions. One of them is set up for the exact point I'm at (where the guide says "do whatever until you get to <location I'm at>"). So I'm going to follow along with that.

I'm going to stay away from FAQs and just let it play itself out. I do want to go chaos or neutral though since I went law on Strange Journey.

I'm about level 30, 22 hours in so far.

I've always thought the idea of aiming for a specific ending in a game w/ multiple endings was kind of... defeating the purpose of the multiple endings? I mean, shouldn't my true ending in a game be the ending I get when [/i]my[/i] actions/choices/etc have played out?

No. Especially not if you get the bad ending and end the game early.
