Damnit Noise, I have so many games to play and you are getting me close to getting sucked into Enemy Within.

Unknown or Within?

If you mean Unknown for the first time, then you have so many hours ahead of you to lose. :D

Unknown.

Fair warning: I strongly dislike the original XCom, but it's been some time and your endless ranting and raving is making me reconsider at least trying it. I've had it for free for months since it was in PS+, so what the hell...

Most of the gameplay is the tactical grid combat. So if you hate that, then you wont like it.

I was a fan of TFTD (the sequel to the original) back in the day. Which is why I wanted to try this so bad. But honestly, I think Unknown is the high point of the series. And is in fact most likely my favorite strategy game of all time. And easily one of my Top 10 games of this entire generation that we're about to leave behind.

@JM: I know he enjoyed Shining Force and Tactics Ogre, so there's hope.

I can definitely see someone who disliked the original X-COM liking the new one, as the original was definitely more of a meat grinder.

These games are for those who love good tactical strategy and don't have ADD.
