You can get Ys 1 on it's own on Master System, but it can be slightly pricy. According to Wikipedia, there's english language versions on DOS and Apple IIGS too, but I have no idea ho0w rare or pricy they may be. It's also with Ys 2 on DS as well as the TGCD version of book 1 & 2 being on Wii Virtual Console.
