Made some stew with 3 pounds of sirloin. I've got good eats for the next few days.

I made fresh mozzarella from home, and it turned out pretty tasty. Time consuming, and might not be cost effective, but had to try it out.

Boiled some penne, topped it with freshly roasted cherry tomatoes, s&p, pan seared pancetta, fresh basil, and mozzarella.

Yes, I ate that huge basil leaf whole.

A porkchop bathed in Louisiana hot sauce, a baked potato, and a corn muffin.

Went to an International festival with vendors from around the world. Fig and mango empanadas, persimmon punch, chicken tamales, and "beef" tostadas for lunch. I say "beef" because the meat was bleach white and chewy. Pretty sure I had a bit of beef tripe, and it was not tasty.

I pretty much pigged out for lunch today... my family had some pre-grilled chicken breast slices (sandwich sized) with potato chips. The non-breaded version of chicken sanwiches seems to be less filling somehow, because I ended up eating three of them, a can of coke, and a full serving of chips. But whatever, feels good man. And it's not like I eat like that all the time.

I feel the need to add that my parents, in their late 50's early 60's, had s'mores for the first time in their life last night. We made them the traditional way, over burning wood in our fire pit.

They've lived in this country their whole lives, right? And they never, ever had s'mores?

I've been wanting s'mores myself lately. The cold weather makes it the perfect time of year for campfire food.

They grew up near downtown Chicago. No camping or campfires. If you fired up the grill it was usually for steaks or sausage. They've roasted marshmallows before, but not the whole shebang. But after their visit, they stated that they're buying a fire pit next weekend.
