Ys III: Wanderers from Ys - TG-CD vs. Genesis vs. SNES vs. X68000 vs. Other.

I've been playing the Genesis version and enjoying it, but I wonder if I'm missing out on a better version of the game.

I already own the PSP version that comes with Dracula X Chronicle's. But I bought that before hearing that the PSP version changes item placements and "update's" the voice acting.

The PSN version is the original version, and cheap enough that I might not mind buying it. So are their other differences in the PSP version I haven't heard of yet? And how does the changed item placement effect the overall experience?

PSN's version without question.

People around here will try and sway you towards the Chronicles version being better, but they're WRONG. Wrong damnit! There are a bucketload of changes to the Chronicles version.

I heard the Chronicles version has a few glitches that causes the game to freeze or crash. Is that true? I was considering picking it up so I can play on my vita

Do you own a X68000 or are you using an emulator? http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/ys/ys2.htm

So I now have Final Fantasy 4 and 6 on both PS1 and SNES. I never played either on SNES before. Which versions are better?

Play 4 on Ps1, 6 on SNES.

The Ps1 version of 4 was completely retranslated and the new script is much, much better than the original one on the SNES. The SNES version of it is also censored and there are a lot of things that were dumbed down in it.

6 on Ps1 is pretty much identical to the SNES version, except it adds a lot of load times. Just play the SNES version of that one.

Never happened when I played it. Way I see it, PSN version is for the purist who wants to play the classic original. PSP version is for the person who wants the better, definitive version.

Do you know if the PS1 version of the game is emulating a SNES rom? If so would you happen to know if someone has ripped the rom from it (would like to play on a real SNES with my flashcart instead of PS1 obviously). Kind of like how Ocarina of Time Master Quest N64 rom was ripped from the GameCube compilation.

From what I understand, it does have the rom on it, but it's only using it to pull assets from as opposed to actually emulating the game.

As far as I know, nobody's tried to rip it.

Isn't the ps1 version of FFIV also the "hard" version of the game, while the SNES game was made easier for us audiences?

I recall hearing something to this affect, but I have only ever played the ps1 version.
