Dude, if you say you can't jam with a trombone, you're not doing it right. Brass all the way. My t-bone is my baby and I still have it...waiting.zarathstra wrote:I played the trombone through high school, but I haven't done much with it since then. I've thought about picking it back up, but I'd be incredibly rusty, and the trombone isn't really something you can jam with.

i started playing bass in a band when I was 14, them moved to learn guitar. I've played everything from folk, country, post rock, grungey crap and punk. now i'm mostly a songwriter and play in a band. I do some singing, but I'm not stellar at that. I'm not what you'd call classically trained, but I can play nearly anything with keys and knobs, most stringed insruments, glockenspiel, harmonica, melodica, some percussion and a few other random what nots. I'm probably best at guitar, but I like to play a somewhat un-orthidox method, usually in alternate tunings. Don't know how it started, but it seemed to match my voice a bit better.
I like to tinker with almost any noisemaking device and can usually figure out a use for it somehow....even if it's not the standard one. I'm trying to learn to play the flute, ocarina and recorder now and not succeeding quite yet. there's a link of some of my home recrdings in my sig, so check it out if you want to.

Re: Anyone Play An Instrument
Got my first electric guitar back in 1999. Played the trumpet since 4th grade. Had piano lessons for a while, but stopped playing. A damn shame, I can still play a few things.
Also play bass and drums, not the greatest at them but I can hold my own. And since I play trumpet I can also play baritone, its the same fingering. I think that's it. There's a violin lying around that I messed around with a few times, but I'd really like to pick up a flute or a sax (both, really) to learn to play. I also would like to get a banjo and a mandolin.
