What's the best bargain you've ever found?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Best deal I've ever run into was Viewtiful Joe (new and sealed) on ebay for $1.00 w/ free shipping...the guy accidentally sent me two.

Hmm..would have to say about 3 months ago at a trift store when I picked a complete SNES system w/ 22 games (including Earthbound, Contra III) for about $15 Canadian. That was a hell of a deal.

Well, today I bought a brand new Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul guitar for $20. They usually price for $50. I consider this the best bargain I've found in a while.

Black label copies of all three PS1 Final Fantasies, still sealed (which I promptly broke so I could play the damn things) for £17 four years ago. Not sure what the going rate is these days, but at the time that was a saving of about £50 if I ignore the fact they were sealed.

My Saturn, which I got in mint condition with cables and a controller for $10. Not sure if this is a good deal, but I got a Sanyo 3DO with cables, controller, Need for Speed, Shockwave, and Myst for $60.

A model 1 sega CD with box and, sega genesis with box and manual, and about 20 sega cd or genesis games not worth much...all for 25 bucks. And they all worked. Totally worth the 3 hours total driving time for it. Model 1 Sega CD's are just way better looking. Market Value somewhere around 200 bucks I think, not sure, thats what I remember them being on ebay lately with box and everything.
Somebody sell me a model 1 modchip for Saturn. Please.

Most defiantly my Sega Multi-Mega (CDX) from a car boot sale for £6.50. I recently had to spend £25 on it to repair it's CD motor even then it's the cheapest Multi-Mega possible ever.

There was also that time I got a box full of 26 Mega Drive games which included Alien Solider for £10.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

A little brother of a friend of mine rang me up, and told me he wanted to get rid of a "bit of console gear". Stuff he'd been collecting off eBay, hoarding for years, never playing, etc. I say "sure, what do you want for it?". He says "man, it's all junk, but make an offer". He gives me a short list off the top of his head, and in it is at least 3 consoles and 20 games per unit. So I offer AU$100 (at the time about US$80), and he's stoked. Says he'll drop it around later that day.

He shows up with an enormous box of stuff. I'm blown away. He then says "wait here, I'll get the second box." (!!!). I unpack it all and end up with:

2x Sony PSX (one not working), 40+ games
2x Sega Master System, 30+ games
1x N64, 15+ games
2x Sega Megadrive 1, 1x Sega Megadrive II, 20+ games (heaps of imports too)
a huge collection of cables, connectors, joysticks, gamepads, flight sticks, and other random stuff

$100 well spent, I say. If it were eBay, I'd have spent ten times that for the same stuff, most of it wasted on postage.

More recently I scored a working PAL Saturn and three games (Daytona, Virtua Fighter 2, and Need for Speed I think) for $20.
