I love the Syphon Filter series and recommend that anyone interested in spy based thrillers (Metal Gear, Bourne etc.) check it out as it's a great series. C-12 Final Resistance is also very similiar to the Syphon Filter games, it was one of the last PSone games to be released. It's a little short and the english accents can grow tiresome but it is also a great 3rd person action adventure.
I had the same problem with Driver as well, damn tutorial. I somehow got around it but just played the same old mission where piles of cops chase after you. Might have been a seperate mode, not sure.
