I realize how many of you are xbox fanboys but wont admit it, but Sony does have the superior hardware. The war has just started, FFXIII is just a battle. Plus the PS3 version is gonna be released, then there gonna start working on the 360 version. So when PS3 owners have gotten bored with it, be glad knowing that it'll just be another week til you can buy it for your xbox. But in reality I could not care less...this game prolly wont see a release til...well 2013 prolly. I'm just waiting for LittleBigPlanet personally, I don't like getting my hopes up for a game that doesn't even have some sort of demo.

No one here is denying that the PS3 has a superior media format, it's just becoming clear now that it might not be as important to the games as everyone had thought. Not to mention, things like the PS3's low drive speed really hold back the potential of BluRay. As far as the rest of the PS3's hardware goes, it's not that big of a leap from the 360. The sheer fact that developers have an easier time optimizing for the 360, will put many games ahead of the PS3 in terms of graphics. You can call people Xbox fanboys if you want, but maybe some of us choose to be more realistic about the current state of this gaming generation.

This is fantastic news. I always thought about how cool it would be to get achievement points for an FF game, as I'm the type to usually pull up a FAQ and try to do every optional thing there is to do in most FF games I play. This will be a nice addition to my gamertag.

It's a major battle. One of those battles they call a turning point. I always thought Sony would just barely squeak through the next few years, but this has to be devestating. It not only means FFXIII is going multiconsole, but that some of the most powerful players in the industry are reconsidering exclusitivity. If this starts a domino effect (hopefully) the PS3 will be on thin ice. Who's next? What's the next major release to suddenly go 360?

I certainly hope the problem gets worse for Sony; I don't want to see a PS4.

The reason for that is developers have had more then a eyar of extra working time to learn how to develop for the 360 better. It was the same with the PS2 Xbox and Gamecube....as more time passes...you see better graphics and quicker developments times.

Square just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFXIII for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFXIII for 360 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I'm not a fanboy of anything. Any moron who has actually played all the consoles of this generation can see the inherent advantages and disadvantages of each format.

However there are so many problems with the way Sony conducts their console division right now. They need to grow up and realise they can't just fart out this big beefy console and go "ug, this club is bigger than your club, it better, ug" "it has playstation on it, it bestest" It's such a fucking annoying attitude they have, like they can just slap the brand on it and expect it to be a success.

Also, somebody needs to tell Sony that taking away features and then lowering the price is not a price drop! It's just a different SKU with a different price! ARGH!

Fanboys annoy the shit out of me. You're just in denial because you can't turn this little voice off in your head that goes "maybe I bought the wrong console". Just fuck off, get a job, and buy every console if your that insecure that somebody might have a better game thats exclusive to the console you don't have, quit crying about it and making up reasons why X console sucks. It's the only way to win in a console war, just buy them all. You get to play every AAA title when it comes out. IF you can't buy them, don't fucking whine and try to undermine everybody else's personal purchases. Just be satisfied with what you have.

RyaN, please shut up. You have absolutely no idea on how games are made and the technical limits on consoles.

For a start MGS4 has several installs throughout the game. I'd much rather swap a DVD than have to sit 20m for the first install, 10-15m for each consecutive install. Swapping a DVD takes 30 seconds max. And that's after spinning around, picking my nose, pulling my shorts out of my ass and scratching my nuts. It's bullshit saying that games for the PS3 can't be ported to 360 because it uses DVD. WTF? Why not split the game up. If the largest PS3 guys require mandatory installs and constant re-installs i'd much rather have multi discs and swap. It's so much quicker.

fyi, it takes 15 minutes max for first install then about 2 minutes for each other one, about the amount of time it takes to get your ass off the couch, take the disc out, put the disc in, and wait for it to load.

edit: also why would M$ announce that the 360 now has the capability to partial install games JUST LIKE THE PS3. Their has to be some demand for the feature or mabe M$ is just doing it to say "yea, we can do that too" (this is oddly starting to sound like the Genesis/SNES war)

and to all you out their i do understand computers, Ive been a PC gamer most my life I KNOW WHAT DOES WHAT!!! I cant help but feel this is due to my age that im getting this hate (along w/ the fact im german). But lifes a garden, dig it!

you know, despite all the hate for this generation, ive found that once you actually play the games, you relize their is plenty of innovation amongst the crap. Not to mention people that invested in an HDTV when they first came out are finally getting something out of it.

Oh yeah, there definitely is quite a bit of innovation this generation. I just get upset that it gets hidden and lost from the main stream.
