Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

bingo.

also i seriously think i was addicted to energy drinks for like a year and a half. i'd drink a 16 oz can a day (at least one) every day before work. i totally think that really fucked me up a lot. so yeah, avoid those things, just my advice.

I cut out coffee drinking. I drink a lot of tea though. I try to eat a little healthier these days which helps. Plus, I try to be more positive and try a little meditating every now and then.

Yeah I know I sound all "New Agey"but it's worked for me. I'm starting to be a big believer in mind over matter and I've noticed a big difference once I stopped constantly saying that I was tired all the time. Self fulfilling prophesy and all that

I really need to start exercising. I'd probably have even more energy

This may be a dumb question, but what to you do with the meditating?
Sometimes what I need is to just clear my head. Between all the things I have in-process for the site, my day job, and my personal life, sometimes by about 2pm my brain is flooded with thoughts and just needs to "reboot".

Sometimes a walk outside for a few minutes helps, but sometimes I need more than that.
At times I'm more mentally exhausted than physically.

coffee, coke, or mental fortitude, in reverse order. Aslong as Ive had atleast thirty minutes of sleep in the past 24 hours I can usually get through anything without stimulants, but when I do need them I adore Coke. Chilled in a can is my preferred type but I will take any. Now if things get really dodgy I will get a can of my good friend Mr Brown. Mr Brown is a Korean coffee drink that is a solid 6 oz of coffee extract, with added caffeine. After a chat with Mr Brown I can walk through walls, but talk about a downer six hours later - which is why I have only had one since college.

Coffee, sometimes I'll grab one of those "5 hour energy" shots.

If I can't stay awake when I'm driving I will put the AC on. If I'm at work I get up and walk around for a bit.

Venom

Take two of those and you are good to go for 8 Hrs +

Great for a cutting cycle (cardio + resistance training + caloric deficit).

I think there is alot of good that can come out of meditation, but how you do is up to you. The most important thing is to find a calming environment with very little noise and few distractions. Taoist philosiphy is great doorway to learning calming and meditative practices. I'd recomend a book called Pratical Taoism by James Cleary. Really helped me through depression in high school, and i read through it a year ago and found it was still great advice. It's a very direct, concise and informative book about Taoism and meditation in the "modern world" or wherever the heck we are....

Breathing is important. Basically it's all about focusing on your breathing(deep, slow breathing from your stomach) and trying to clear your head. Most people can't help "thinking" though, so you just have to learn to try not to actually focus on any thought that pops into your head, just let it go.

I'm a beginner when it comes to meditating. Many people focus on a question or a problem when they meditate and supposedly get their answers. Other people reach some kind of enlightenment or "altered" state. For me, I just find that it helps me relax and I seem to have more energy. That's enough for me, I don't plan of joining a monastery or becoming a hermit anytime soon

I think everyone just needs some time in the day to shut the world out, even if it's just for fifteen minutes. Everyone meditates their own way, some people actually do considering walking a form of meditation. There's a TON of info on the net about meditating, and some of it is so deep it's scary, so I'd say just find a way that is simple and practical
