dude if your bent on being cynical and bringing others down do it somewhere else k!
Can't take a joke can ya? You asked a question on a public forum, you're going to get responses across the whole spectrum. My response just ain't the one you hoping for.

It's more or less the way we all just deal with life. Come now, if I wanted to bring you down I could bring you down. Make a sny comment is as hurtful as throwing rocks into the ocean.

I have been out of town. Got my car fixed. Let it be known that if a professional mechanic tells you it's impossible, take it to an old hippy guy your uncle recommends who's an expert on Toyotas. Guy did an awesome job for a good price. It's good to be free again.

Anyways Ryan, consider yourself lucky if your downer episodes only last 3-5 days.

thanks, yea my parents are divorced but my dad takes good care of me bless his soul. Yea, I try to talk about things I feel with him but he has a hard time understanding sometimes, but he still listens which is good enough for me.
At least we now know one of the cause of your depression. Don't care what anyone say. Divorce is hard on everybody, especially the children. Anyway, sorry to hear about your parent's divorce. I guess since 1 out of 2 marriage ends up in divorce, it is just part of our culture now. I am just glad you are at least doing well instead of doing some crazy shit to yourself or others.

Yep, yep, and yep. Hell, when my job kicks me in the balls, a fight with the ol' girlfriend, and whatever in life that gets me down... well, gets me down, it still happens after the teenage years (I haven't seen them in a long time).

You just find better ways to deal with it and good old fashion exercise is a great way to burn off stress, kick depression, and stay in shape (what the hell? I sound like a bad representative for a gym...)

Anyhoo, just do something that makes you feel good, get plenty of exercise, and a regular sleep schedule helps too. Bucker up kiddo, at 14, you gotta enjoy your life before "real life" takes over (like a full-time job, family, and more and more responsibilities pile upon you). Enjoy being a teen as long as you can because it'll be gone before ya know it. Take care dude, you'll be fine~

Not to thread jack but the one thing that gets me depressed is what my gf had done "ahem" sexually before she met me, it's always on the rear burner in my mind. It's not like she doesn't do it with me, i kinda always ask myself, why did she have to? I've done things I'm not proud of to her, I broke a real big promise while she moved to texas for a bit. I've been with her for 2 years, in October 2008. She was my first, we're sticking through thick and thin. Here's to the guys who are still with the 1st girl they kissed! HURRAH! /loser rant

Let me tell ya, that depression can suck but get in the habbit of looking at why it may be happening. Not just the obvious stuff, because that shit can just be triggers for deeper rooted shit.(direction in life/spiritual/etc - even as a teenager)

I used to get depressed and just smoke, drink, and fuck it away... to the point where I sort of became ammune to it. Now I don't get depressed when I probably should, and I continue to make shitty decisions without that depression-feedback system to discourage me!

Emotions are a guidance system - listen to em, ask why, then act accordingly.

Fuck the meds. The state of the drug market truely is an ugly face of capitalism - just like any racket, the drug market doesn't care about you, dont trust it!

I don't expect the pharmaceuticals to be selfless (and probably they won't care too much about you, true), but the doctors that prescribe the drugs are a different story. Now, I don't know how things are in different countries (and indeed, in mine I'm not so aware either), but I hope we can trust doctors to put the pacient's interest above the interest of the pharmaceuticals.
