Haha. Yeah my mum has got 2 wheels for her Wii. I just don't get it. It's gotta be a psychological thing. Everyone who's played MKW with me has thought that the wheel is rubbish and prefers a more 'solid' control system.

On the otherhand, it flies pretty well~
I've heard from several sources that this is the best control option. I'll find out when I get home tonight.

I like the wheel, it's fun. However, for competition any other control style is better. Nuff said...

Well I picked this up the weekend and it is great fun, just as I knew it would be. So far I have only tried the wheel and the GC controller and I agree that the wheel is fun but isnt as accurate as a proper pad, but that makes up for it being a bit on the easy side right?

I like the how they've fixed the snaking as well. I'm not one of those 'snaking is cheating' cissies, because it is pretty hard to pull off but I couldnt get the hang of it so I always thought it rather impolite. As well as levelling the playing field, the lack of waggling while drifting opened the door for being able to turn into a skid like in more serious racing games which to my mind adds a lot more depth to the handling.

A blast from the past.

I've been playing this a bit online since my daughter is finally old and experienced enough to actually get first place now and then.

I was thinking about this on the drive in today, I was just given a second Wii (a newer styled one without Gamecube ports). So now I need to look into getting more classic controller so we can play Mario Kart Wii 4 player on bigger screens in my house. I have a feeling that once that gets started those other two Wiis that I spoke of in 08 will find their way to me.

Still pissed about no LAN mode and what they did to battle, but the racing part is still a whole mess of fun.

Yes, battle mode is my biggest disappointment in this game. It's not worth playing.

In my opinion Mario Kart 64 perfected the genre, Double Dash was a fun aside but the courses/arenas were too short/small, and Wii has a fun racing but, as stated, the battle is laughably bad. The only other Mario Kart to come close to 64 is DS, which took alot of the best parts of the previous titles, but to play multiplayer everyone needs a DS and a copy of the game.
