Wow. That's messed up if they're just taking titles off the list w/o telling people "last call".nick944 wrote:I thought that, and remembered seeing it on the VC, but it isn't there anymore and it's not listed on nintendo's VC list...fastbilly1 wrote:Military Madness has been on the Virtual Console for some time now, it was one of the first TG16 titles released in the US.

THis is definatley the next system I want to buy. I found a copy of complete copy of Blazing Lasers for 6 bucks last week and I have nothing to play it on. I was holding out for a Turbo Duo, but heck they are just so expensive I'll pick up a regular old system next time I find one. I'm so mad I passed up on the one at my game store for 35 bucks complete in box. What a goof.

I take it that your local store's one for $35 is gone?
Yep..and the one for 30 without a box. I knew a should have bought it, but my girl would have killed me. I already took over the entertainment center with my other 6 systems.D.D.D. wrote:Hell yes~ Blazing frikkin Lazers! I love that game.ott0bot wrote:THis is definatley the next system I want to buy. What a goof. When you play it, and if you like it, look into more shooters by Compile (like Space Megaforce and any Aleste game).

I played blazing Lazers some time ago and really like it, reminded me of the Genesis shooter Truxton. I love MUSHA and Robo Aleste too, so this is definately my kinda of game. I've been meaning to pick up Space Megaforce for quite some time, but haven't. I'll check out Compile and see what else they made. Thanks

An incredible console that was way ahead of its time
I grew up with the TurboDuo, and I fondly remember picking it up on clearance at Toys 'R Us for a paltry $99. It featured the best pack-in collection of games I've ever seen for a system: Ys Book I and II, 3-in-1 (Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, Gate of Thunder, and the original Bomberman was available with a code), and Ninja Spirit. Then I picked up Loom, Dungeon Explorer II, Ys III, Lords of Thunder, Bomberman '93, and all of them were being heavily discounted.
Now, thanks to Magic Engine, I've discovered a wealth of Japan-only games that make the American TG-16 selection look pathetic.
I've spent quite a bit of time working on my greatest games list for the TG-16. Check them out here:

Man.....that's exactlty what I want, but now its an un-paltry 300-500 dollars plus for that kind of set-up.
I have a couple questions. I have a friend that goes to china quite often, and she was going to pick up a Turbo-Duo next time becasue they are really cheap there. I know the US system is region free, and i heard you can just flip the japanese huCard over to play them, is that true? Can you play US huCards on Japanese systems? I'm pretty sure the cd's are region free, is that correct? Any compatability issues for CD's of Super CD's? Thanks man.
