I have yet to be enticed- and probably won’t be enticed for a long time. The only next gen exclusive I’m interested in is RE8, and my PC will be able to handle that. Same with most of the Xbox stuff coming to PC nowadays. My little GTX 1050 might not be strong, but if I can get 720p/30 that’s enough.
I’m personally more drawn to the Nintendo side of things nowadays, and that and a PC will be more than enough.

I like my tech thoroughly vetted. I have never been a day-one-er, except for the GBA SP.

I'm usually a generation behind, its cheaper that way. I wait till my girls are tired of the consoles they wanted at one time but hardly ever play.

Falling one gen behind has been my strategy since 2006. When the Wii came out, gamecube prices plummeted. That's when I noticed the trends.
So I guess it's time for me to get interested in PS4.

Personally, I think this is something of an outdated mentality. Granted, there's the potential chance that you could score a PS4 (or Pro) for cheap or even free when folks upgrade. However, the degree of last-gen compatibility being rolled into the new consoles (and then some, in the case of Microsoft) likely means that they'll still have that library of 8th gen games available, from the same sources (so, at the same price), and likely running better. It's not necessarily the same as past generations of consoles, where it might take a bit for a worthwhile library to build up and drop in price. Here, it may end up being worth investing a little more in the hardware up front to get a better experience from all those cheap games.
Obviously, if they come out at $800 and you can get a PS4 Pro for $200, it's a different story

^ that's a good point. I ran into that with diablo 3, it's a whole different experience on the ps4. But then again I'm not buying a game twice very often either. If I couldn't have imported my character over to the ps4, it wouldn't have been bought That mostly started this gen I believe.

I think we'll see deals on Xbox One games. The Xbox brand seems to hit the bargain bin fairly quickly whenever the new system comes out.

Yeah as we march to an all-digital gaming world. MTX and higher prices. I'm not looking forward to it. GaaS games as well kinda ruin things. I was excited going into every gen until the 8th. Ever since I dread a new gen as the AAA industry is the drizzling shits and ruins the hobby as a whole.
