Fast thumbs make fast games, but I know there is a lot of love for Sega and the blue bomber here, sorry

Video was pulled down before I could watch it, but I'd said before that I am a firm believer that future Sonic games should test players' reflexes and force them to think and react as quickly as Sonic is moving. For some reason I always think of the fast paced gameplay of Shinobi. Quickly dashing from enemy to enemy over large gaps where a mistake equals death. I want that mixed in with fast paced Jet Set Radio-ish gameplay with tricks and rail grinds. I want those loop de loops to have obstacles or enemies for players to dodge and sudden gaps for them to jump. And although I'm not a huge fan of QTE style gameplay, I could see it working in a Sonic game that demands quick reflexes.

I think the number of rings available to players should also be drastically reduced. Sonic needs a serious kick in the ass. I want a "hardcore" Sonic game. Sonic was always marketed as "extreme" yet he never truly was. If you read most reviews of the more modern Sonic games it seems like everyone is looking for an awesome adrenaline rush.

As far as exploration goes, I say put in multiple pathways through each stage. Personally though, I'm looking for a fresh experience and I'd rather see Sonic turned into something closer to a pure action game. It's time to reinvent Sonic or nobody will ever give a damn. I love the fresh new approach Resident Evil got with its fourth installment.

Sonic also needs MASSIVE mechanical bosses, with multiple stages of battle. I'll say it again. I want an EXTREME Sonic game. I want the blue blur back with a vengeance.

I actually believe that more skilled based gameplay is the only way people will ever care about Sonic again. Sonic was always about speed, but he needs to evolve and make the gameplay more skill based to make Sonic more modern. Actually, in a way this makes Sonic more old school too.

Why would Sega want to take down footage of heir own game? Isn't that free advertising?

Anyway, I saw a video of this game somewhere yesterday. It LOOKS nice, but keep in mind that the 360/PS3 Sonic the Hedgehog looked nice too and that game was complete ass.

At this point I am extremely skeptical of anything with the Sega name attached to it, which is a real shame.

They took that video down because they made their own trailer that looks almost exactly the same. If you search on YouTube you could probably still find it.
