Good lord that list is all over the place.
Play Valis. I had that on my list a few years back but I couldn't beat it.

I've been really wanting to check this series out. They look very appealing.BogusMeatFactory wrote: 1. Star Tropics
On the flip side I like alienjesus' point about this being a good way to tackle some retro backlog and not stretch too far from that in emulating stuff or something. That said everything I still own pre-PSX I've beaten, so the PSX/PS2 are my oldest backlogs console wise and kind of deep in JRPG's. There's no way I could burn through a lot of these back to back haha.
Probably some old stuff on Steam/GOG I need to get to as well though. But I need some variety in terms of game length.
Dragon Quest is still kind of the only thing that comes to mind for me, that big "strange I haven't really played one yet" despite having beaten FF1-10 and more. I think I've done a good job tackling the roots of series/genres I enjoy a lot unless something is escaping me right now.
Some stuff from Steam:
Anachronox
Call of Cthulhu
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
Stalker Call of Pripyat
Star Wars KOTOR2 (replay)
Star Wars Republic Commando
Turok Dinosaur Hunter HD
Vampire The Masquerade

I highly recommend rocket knight adventures. Great action platformer that is truly all its own. The rocket mechanic can have a ton of potential for mayhem.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - incredible. It simplifies the bigger scope of Galaxy in a way I appreciate and they further went this direction with 3D World. You just get right to the levels quicker and I don't recall the levels having nearly as many stars per, as they do in 64 or Galaxy. Most levels only had a few stars now, so it was consistently more interesting to just get more cool and interesting levels with new ideas. Didn't feel like a collectathon.
Mass Effect 2 - fantastic.
BioShock - No idea what you'd think. Lots of mixed reactions here on RB. I love it though.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Meh.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - I love it but it's not for everyone. Probably about 4 hours of gameplay and 6+ of cutscenes at least.
The Last of Us - amazing.
Dead Space - One of my favorite games of all time. Phenomenal gameplay, elements of Metroid Prime, amazing atmosphere. It's not scary, it's just fun. This is RE4's true successor.
God of War - okay.
Mega Man V - love it.
Mega Man VI - love it.
Ufouria - The Saga - love Sunsoft but couldn't get into it.
M.U.S.H.A. - amazing
R-Type III - um good luck, makes Demon's Souls look like a bitch probably.

Anachronox - I didn't like it. Didn't finish it.
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver - Really cool, still haven't beaten it.
Star Wars Republic Commando - Really fun tactical FPS. I beat it.
Vampire The Masquerade - If you mean Bloodlines by all means YES. I beat it.
