There are likely plenty of AI type examples too, or we'll have them to compare to eventually (it seems like we were still getting things half targeting old platforms until somewhat recently). Forza Horizon 2 on 360, as solid as it apparently is, also lacks a lot of features that the Xbox One version has, well beyond basic graphics comparisons (list in this thread).

I think what makes things odd for current gen, as I'd mentioned earlier in the thread, is that development is so multiplatform. It's almost more like the next gen of consoles will just be able to run at settings reserved for the PC version now (to start), and back-end stuff trickles in over time, eventually resulting in things that previous machines would have little hope of replicating.

Really? I could throw back at you that you are feeling biased due to your nostalgia and you try to undermine the significance of comming from PS2 to PS3.

Wouldn't his nostalgia also be a factor for PS2 to PS3?

The thing about being an old fogie is I have a wider frame of reference than you. I've experienced not only PS2 -> PS3, but also PS1 -> PS2. You already admitted you didn't experience the PS1 -> PS2 transition first hand, so by default your stance on the matter isn't as personally informed.

Now that doesn't automatically mean "you're wrong and I'm right". By all means I value your opinion, and don't hold it against you. But I have to say that the poll speaks for itself in this case.

I don't inted this comment as attack on any users so people don't take this the wrong way but......millions of shit eating flies can't be wrong?

Just because your personal choice is winning doesn't mean that you now have the high ground and experiencing those consoles first hand doesn't make you any more qualified if you are being just biased. If you think you are looking things objectively here then you are being completely delusional.

And for the record i didn't even say what's my pick is and you are just assuming that it's the PS2 to PS3.

I said PS1 -> PS2, but I almost said PS2 -> PS3. The jump to HD was significant, but I think the jump from shitty 3D to legit 3D was bigger.

It's just opinions, everyone! No need to take it personally.

I, like Exhuminator, got to see the PS1 -> PS2 transition first-hand. Many of us here did. My personal gaming history saw me start with the NES, although I'd played Atari and some arcade stuff earlier than that. Just because I saw the console transitions doesn't inherently make me right, of course. It does bring a different perspective, though.

I still believe both generations were sizable leaps. Just that the PS1 -> PS2 jump was more significant. And most of us probably agree that the smallest jump has been from PS3 -> PS4. (There's still some impressive stuff there, too, but nothing that blows my mind.)
