We should rename the thread that and just lock it.

Might as well just rename it to 'Bitch?! Please.' That should set the tone right and expectation.

Man, this place is downright sedate compared to another board I frequent. I avoid the political thread like the plague there.

Where is all this "drama"? A few minor skirmishes at best, maybe. :P

Fair enough. And this can be the final post:

I feel that my mind has changed, though I haven't changed my mind. In other words, I certainly haven't switched sides, but before this knockdown-drag-out political battle, I couldn't understand why anyone would support Trump anymore than I could understand why any wizard would support Voldemort. My views have attenuated from the discussion to have more compassion and understanding for the Trump voters here. I haven't stopped being the same earth loving, freedom fighting, underdog championing, buddha minded, scientific poet hippie I've always been though.

I have also learned, that when I make what I believe to be a well-reasoned and impassioned speech that I see as a rallying cry for loving compassion and justice, that at least a dozen people here recoil in disgust and froth from the mouth with seething hatred for my every word. That's been... confusing.

 - This is my experience with the board in general. I feel you.

Seriously though, I don't understand what the big deal is. People don't agree on some things. I've been mildly agitated at best with a few of the posts, a couple I just ignored, but in general things have remained remarkably civil for a political debate.

Being passionate about something does not equate to being dramatic. So much inflection can be inferred incorrectly in this medium that you have to take some things with a grain of salt.

Besides, I prefer someone stand their ground and speak their mind than take a knee and pull away altogether because there may be some headbutting. I agree that I have taken away some understanding from a few of the Trump supporters that I hadn't previously considered, while also running up on some roadblocks on things we will never agree on. That's okay with me, I don't dislike anyone because they took a different point of view than me, especially if they took the time to try and explain it.

Going now to find my safe space, children's toys, crying room, and whatever other "pussy" shit I need to cope with life. *Seriously Tanooki, dude, you literally collect children's toys...a little self awareness?*

But they're cool toys. ;)

(Seriously, I buy Transformers every now and then, and have a few displayed in my office, 'cause duh. Transformers. My favorite? This guy.)

I cannot look at that without the Team America theme playing in my head.
