I'm continuing to monitor videos. One guy posted a video last week but it's on a CRT and he doesn't show the screens all that long from the menu.

I just found a livestream of the console going on right NOW on YouTube. This link should also be for the entire video when it finishes. I'll go back and look at all the games played so far.

Ok, so I went back and looked at every displayed screenshot and did a LOT of research on this, especially on the prototypes/homebrews. This should be the complete list!

So there are 103 games, 76 of which were bona fide JP/US/EU releases, 18 homebrews and 9 prototypes. Of the 76, 5 of them are the arcade originals, all from Capcom.

As for the quality of emulation, some games looked REAL slow compared to the original, and the streamer complained of input lag. Some other games look good like Captain Commando and R-Type III. The video is ending now, so you may want to check it out.

Tanks for the list. Only five arcade games? Suddenly this seems a bit less appealing.

Agreed, now my interest is back towards not having interest. I strongly object to a couple things. Wasting space on GB ports of arcade games when there are already NES ports, and then the fact they went with ports (Capcom aside) of arcade games. That is just taking a halfassed easy way out on that one. These games in general aren't going to sell themselves like that NES 30in1 does by name alone so it would have been far better to give the best releases. And I get the Piko Interactive package, but the other screwball homebrew he wouldn't even peddle and protos of questionable value just to make the roster larger (like the GB ports of ports) seems lazy.

I have trouble imagining the system is entirely legitimate. Where does the emulator code come from? Are all the ROM files properly licensed?

Hopefully the SD card slot will be used for firmware updates like the Retron 5. If those are real USB ports, maybe my Buffalo SNES pad will work instead of those Genesis 6-button knockoffs that come with it?

That nitwit chris from hyperkin is trolling the device on facebook now. He's calling it out for bad controller lag and a mostly boring list of games. Piko(Eli) called him out on his crap since it's a review without purchase, and the fact he has done so with other devices that would be considered competition. More gas was thrown on the fire calling them out on the supaboy when someone chimed in that it was great.

Especially with all those prototypes I'm having a hard time believing everything's kosher here.

There's just nothing that special about this thing. At least with some of the plug 'n plays they make interesting trinkets and collectibles. With this I don't really see any good argument for not just getting yourself a Raspberry Pi with Retropie instead.

It doesn't help that the game list looks like it was compiled based on throwing darts at a Mame ROM list. No, this thing is about as serious and legit as it seems. They are hoping to get by without getting sued.

Shades of chameleons that's for certain.
