i have to wonder about the leaderboard feature when console has open support for game genie. how in any way could they ensure the scores are legit ?

also i think in today's retro world, a speedrun tracking feature would be more useful! 8) (probably impossible though)

I remember reading something that high scores could not be uploaded if the game data is altered in anyway.

So lots of folk have them already, but if you were like me and preordered with a game, you are stuck waiting till the games come in.

I was gonna go for one of these, but I realized that it was going to be a while, what with the kid only 5 weeks away, until I was in a position to buy any Famicom games and that I was unlikely to use the unit on either of the HDTVs in the house. I still want one, though. The reviews have been excellent so far. Now I just want someone to do an FPGA SuperGrafx clone.

I want someone to do a 100% (or near 100%) accurate clone for EVERY console.

Ah, but see, there's already an FPGA core out there floating around in VRML format for the Hu6280, and while the NES, MD, and SNES are all still pretty easy to find used, the SuperGrafx is a hard console to come by and is quite expensive. The SuperGrafx is based on well-understood enough hardware that an FPGA core is not something that's ridiculous to consider. And since it will also play all the regular PC Engine software (with just a couple buggy exceptions), it would be a great value for enthusiasts.

ill be honest, if we arrive to such point wherein we have 100% accurate and reliable hardware 3rd-4th generation multiconsole FPGA , id sell all my old systems for it.

I don't see multiconsole happening anytime soon, just because that system would likely have a different FPGA core for each console, or you'd have to wait for it to reprogram, something the cheaper ones do slowly. Software emulation will remain the most practical option for that, I think.
