They work great and almost feel like the PS4 controller now. I have never broken or chipped one either.
Any caps that look like these:

Only if they look like the ones in the picture. Do not order the other one you will see, they break.

Yep, and they are a lot sturdier than you'd think.

Re: Controlling the Controller: Your picks
Certain controllers can actually determine how much I play a system. I feel like the main reason the Dreamcast is my least favourite of the big 4 main Sega consoles is down to the horrible controller.
It's also undoubtedly why I own so few original XBox games. And it's why I'm not crzy about the Playstation
On the other hand, most Nintendo and Sega consoles I adore and my favourite controllers are for a lot of those systems (Gamecube, Saturn, Mega Drive, N64).

They snap on tightly also. Just stay away from the Best Buy ones with the red strip package. They also have a square like indent around the L2/R2 face of it, stay away from that design. Make sure you get some with the same design as in the picture. I am sure they are available on other site as well. Deal Extreme or price angels or Ali Express, or whatever import site that is around now. They literally make playing better.Xeogred wrote:Interesting. Weird I played a good bit of Xeno X on it(horrible idea with some of the text) and remember it lasting decently. DS4 though I think that sounds about right.Sarge wrote:It does feel that way sometimes, but I'm pretty sure I get close to ten hours with the DS4 vs. around five hours with the GamePad.
But 80 hours on wii u pro? holy battery life batman ( http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/1 ... compatible ). If only someone found a way to make that work with the wii mode....that would be awesome...

I just went ahead and ordered some. Hopefully they match the pictures...wclem wrote:They snap on tightly also. Just stay away from the Best Buy ones with the red strip package. Mine don't match the pictures exactly, but they're still great.Xeogred wrote:I just went ahead and ordered some. Hopefully they match the pictures...wclem wrote:They snap on tightly also. I'm kinda the opposite. I feel software really determines how much I play a system, controller be damned. I mean, I really like how the launch-size original Xbox (the huj one) fits in my hands: It feels really nice to hold. I just wish there were more games that I actually liked on that system, because other than Halo 2 and Stubbs the Zombie, that system has seen very little action in the past few years (But that's mostly because I have no one to play the cheapest version of Baulder's Gate 2 with ;A;).Honestly, I don't hate the PS2 controller, but if I could use that original Xbox controller with it, I probably would.alienjesus wrote:Certain controllers can actually determine how much I play a system. Maybe it's because I grew up (I'm an early 20's babby still) with the Gamecube conroller, but I never found it annoying at all. Most games seemed to acknowladge the C-stick, D-pad and Z-button were in weird places, and tended not to use them, or used them for minimal things, like pulling up specialty windows. Totally agree with you on porting though. Porting stuff onto the GC must've been such a colossal ball-ache with the lack of 4 shoulder buttons :/

Re: Controlling the Controller: Your picks
In my opinion, the Xbox 360 controller is the most ergonomic, evolved version of the SNES controller. The only thing that kills it is the D-Pad. I've always dreamed of a 360 controller with the DualShock 2's D-Pad. Even so, the 360 controller is my favorite.
Kind of like Yoshi's Story, I hear more praise for the GameCube controller from those that grew up with it. I'm not trying to be a pain, but I completely disagree with the controller's design.
For me, going from the DualShock 2 to the GameCube controller felt like madness. Tiny D-Pad and the placement of the Z button are two big issues. After all, the L/R buttons are relatively high and have those slopes for the fingers. Going up and over to get to the Z button? It doesn't make sense to me. I won't even go into the face button arrangement.
I'm that big of a nerd, I know.
