Played the Doubles match on Advance Tour and won! Unlocked a character as well as the next doubles match on the Palms course. My characters are at Level 9 now too.

I've been playing a bit of Mario Golf for the N64 on and off, but not as much as my girlfriend who enjoyed watching me play it so much that she asked if she could have a go too. She's probably played it twice as much as me now, and just unlocked the third tournament by winning the second (which is better than I've been able to do  ).

I went ahead and won the Palms doubles match too. 250XP for that! I think I like doing this a lot more.

The only Mario Golf game I've played and will play this year is the Game Boy Color version. There's a review for it buried on my site that isn't worth digging up... I guess I just don't get it. I love Mario Golf on the N64 and GameCube and 3DS, but I really can't stand the GBC version. Same with Mario Tennis. The whole RPG thing is just a huge turn-off for me when all I want to do is pick a Nintendo character and tee off. I know there's a lot of love for those games but, I guess I'm just not the target audience.

So the Links course tournament brought me to a standstill. I can break the top 5 but can't seem to win it. Took on the pro instead and beat him; I found I played better against him than I had on my three tournament attempts. Hopefully my next shot at the tournament will be a success.

I also found a link cable at a thrift store for 3 dollars only a few days after lamenting not having one. I guess I'm obliged to try it out now.
