Why don't sports games get much attention in retro world?

im not much for sport games but if i see a copy of either Sensible Soccer or World Cup 94 for the mega drive i´d buy it. Mainly because neither took the sport too seriously

and the graphics..simple but get the job done

some of my fondest memories are of Madden 94 and NBA jam TE for genesis, whether playing these games with my dad or my friends, it was always so freakin intense. I got a ps1 solely to play gran tourismo and it and gt2 consumed a great portion of a few years. Another really fond memory from n64 was Wayne Gretsky's 3d hockey(which after just playing is ball-bustingly difficult) and Fifa 64(also hard).
Sports games are fun.
