I actually agree on this one too...I could see it being in a Top 25 list for the system quite easily.

IDK if we should include the VC titles or not, since they may not be accessible to everyone down the line. But if so, everything already mentioned is awesome, along with MM 9 & 10.

1)Goldeneye 007 w/ Gold Classic Controller- this version in particular forget about Reloaded.

2) Donkey Kong Country Returns

3) Tatsunoko vs Capcom- I love mash up fighting games!

4) Sin & Punishment- Masterpiece

5) No More Heroes

6) No More Heroes II

7)House of the Dead 2 & 3 Returns

8) Samurai Shodown Anthology

9) Red Steel

10) Red Steel II

11) Far Cry Vengance

12) Castlevania Judgment

13) Final Fantasy Chocobo Dungeon

14) Ghost Squad

That's about all I own and can fit on my Wii Shelf. If I could fit 2 more it would be one of the Mario Galaxy's and Kirby's Return to Dreamland or whatever it's called . :)

Good picks - keep 'em coming and keep backing or poo-pooing other selections.

@ Tek - I haven't played the Castlevania game and had mostly read it was a bit of letdown - you enjoyed it, eh?

Also - i'm torn on the DKC game - the Wii U game seems better to me, and prior to that, despite obviously improved graphics, I prefer the SNES games to the Wii game.

Lastly - Far Cry. I've never played any of the Far Cry games - is this one exclusive - if not, is there a reason the Wii version is better?

--------------------------------------------------------
Some i'd like to suggest:
Little King's Story - very nice art style; not overly dialogue-ey or complicated like most RPG's I try out.

Ivy the Kiwi - very enjoyable but subtle music. Again, wonderful art style, and just something totally unique that works so well with the wiimote.

Kororinpa Marble Mania - for me, Super Monkey Ball was one of the defining games of the GCN. Having short levels, not overly complicated but horribly difficult at the latter stages - just pure fun. Marble Mania is very similar, but taken to the next level, instead of perfect touch on the GCN toggle, you do it with your hands and the entire wiimote - which is incredibly accurate and fair using wiimotes (with motion plus).

Lost in Shadow, Muremasa, and Klonoa get honorable mentions from me - though i'm not sure if they are top 25 or not.

The Vita port of Muramasa should rule it out given your guidelines. Despite Tektoro's insistence, I'd say the same about Goldeneye.

It doesn't have to be exclusive - but if the other platform is as good, or better, then it shouldn't be on the list (imo). However, each is own, if someone is going to have both PS3 Goldeneye and Wii Goldeneye on their shelf in 10 years, then by all means nominate it.

I have no plans of selling my Wii collection but in 10 years if I had to start a new collection these would top my list for a variety of reasons. Quick note, while some of these may be valuable/rare I'm mainly keeping this list towards games that one would want to go back to play as mentioned in OP.

In no particular order.

Xenoblade Chronicles
Fire Emblem
The Last Story
Pandora's Tower
Kirby Return To Dreamland
Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy 2
DKCR
Wario Land Shake It!
Arc Rise Fantasia
Little League World Series 2009 (yea, a sports title. It's tons of fun though and addictive)
A Boy and His Blob
Klonoa
Metal Slug Anthology
Kirby Dream Collection
Kirby Epic Yarn
Sin and Punishment
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Punch Out!
Zack & Wiki
No More Heroes
Super Paper Mario
Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword
Wii Sports
Rhythm Heaven Fever

A couple that some may want on Gamecube but could own on Wii/both
NPC Pikmin
Pikmin 2 (released as Nintendo Selects in US)
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

I'm sure I'm forgetting some and to keep the list from growing too large I'm leaving out some fantastic games (NSMB, Fragile Dreams, No More Heroes). As you can probably tell I think the Wii library is severly underappreciated and wonder how it will be viewed in 10-20 years.

For myself, if there's a game that has been re-released since (or before) and is better, or there's a substantially better (yet similar) sequel, I wouldn't consider it here.

For me, that axes RE4 (First edition PC with mods is incredible. It's a better offering than Capcom's HD version on PC), New Super Mario Bros. Wii (U is infinitely better, it makes Wii look like Metroid 1 compared to Super Metroid), Smash Bros. Brawl (I think everyone agrees Wii U and 3DS are significantly better, and maybe the best entries), Monster Hunter 3 (Wii U version blows it away), and Mario Kart Wii (Mario Kart 7 and 8 are widely considered to be significantly superior).

Super Mario Galaxy 2
This game is quintessential. The first galaxy's only leg up over the sequel is the backstory of Rosalina. As for the game itself, Galaxy 2 is miles better.
Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure
It's a beautiful adventure game that got almost no love, even by people in the know. It's exceedingly well polished and thoughtfully designed. The game is also clever, extremely fun, and oozes personality. If this game had done better, I could see it as a legit branding franchise. It's extremely solid.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
It's one of the only new fighting games on the system and it's a good one. Some like it more than Capcom's other fighting entries in the same generation of systems.
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Some people swear by these games, and as far as I know the Wii versions are definitive.
Punch-Out!!
It's wonderful! I'm sad that it took so long to get a followup to Super Punch-Out!!
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword
It's Zelda, it'll always be on my shelf.
Kirby's Epic Yarn
    <3
Fortune Street
This game is an absolute blast and a great game to play with others. There's some actual strategy involved in it as well.
Super Paper Mario
It's the weird one everyone hates, except me.
Fragile Dreams
Admittedly I've never finished this game, but when I had played it I was sucked in.

Games I would want to add, but haven't actually played much of: Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles, No More Heroes 2, MadWorld, and Little King's Story. Amongst others.

Retrun to Dreamland is really not getting much love. I suppose it's overshadowed by Triple Deluxe now though, even though I'd say it's still a wonderful game in its own right.
