Nuh-uh! Mr. "WAH Microsoft made one thing that I'm in no way forced to use therefore the entire operating system is junk and I don't like it so I'm going to throw all my toys out of the pram".

You're the troglodyte wanting to jump back to the black and white day of the computer typing in commands and names of stuff to get the programs you want up and running. Perhaps it's you who needs to modernize and set things up so you can tap a button or two and have things work.
You're complaining about a problem that straight up doesn't exist. Making a huge fuss over something that Microsoft should have gotten rid of years ago. They finally saw the light yet there are scores of people just like you stamping your little feet throwing a paddy screwing your faces up crying "but I want my OLD OS back, THIS SUCKS!!". Which has forced Microsoft do a complete 180, instead of progressing their operating system they've taken 2 steps backward. It's a joke.

Have fun blowing things out of proportion as you really do have some larger underlying issue I don't care to dig into.

I never said the entire OS was junk. I just said I did not like how Metro was setup, that's it, and the continued posting was replies to others talking back to me, that's it. I found Classic Shell and it works great and that's all that matters. MS never saw the light, they saw an opportunity to make a tablet based OS for their surface pads and decided to also stick it on their desktop OS to try and bring it all together and it didn't work out so well or they would not have made the 8.1 changes and the return of the old style partially stock with the next Windows.

You can take it however you want I really don't care. If I wanted a tablet based interface entirely then I would have never got another computer and stuck with my nexus 7 and my iphone, but it's really unacceptable for a computer that doesn't even have a touch screen to not give the consumer options and then when they did (8.1), kind of hide them still until you learn where the stuff is. They made a choice, it worked for a few, backfired for a lot of others and clearly you hate the result of that with the next windows. So maybe you should just not use it as you're clearly having a big fuss and stomping your little feet as you put it. :)

Yeah, most people on these forums respect Niode's views and opinions.

that may be, but Niode did come across as kind of aggressive for no reason.

Niodes first post was fine, his second one was because Tanooki was being Tanooki.

Like most posts Tanooki makes, he complains / misinforms / has a sook, then when people answer his question (usually multiple times) / corrects him, he goes back to his original point and digs in his heels.

So many threads he posts in it goes round and round in circles.

People answered his question (including Niode) politely and it turns from a thread about if things can be fixed, question gets answers (I show him that you can make it very usable, etc), yes they can or you can just disable it if it bothers you that much (like Niode said), next thing he is just goes back to complaining about it.

He is the ultimate troll in almost every thread.

There is such a thing as appropriate scale of response. People will disagree, but there was no need for a Ron Burgandy meme.

I'm not the one in the wrong here, I didn't attack until I was. Go re-read the posts. He started off about 'moaning' and complaining about 'metro shit' and that if I didn't like it don't use it. Well I don't have much of a choice, this came with it, and I had been using Win7 so I did not know you could go get an external app and tear away metro or I'd have just done that from the start. I also didn't start going down the road of calling him stupid or a troglodyte either to make a point.

I'm getting the feeling that no one much likes me here or wants me around if it's more convenient to pass all this garbage off as me being me when I wasn't even picking a damned fight and was pointing out who stupid win8 is to a new user and how screwy it is trying to be a tablet OS on a PC. Maybe people do respect his opinions but considering the responses I got I can't as that was entirely unwarranted from the start. Even hobie there jumped in early enough saying the like it or lump it commentary isn't really right. I'm also not a troll in almost every post, you just happen to not agree with me is all, but it doesn't make me any less right. I'm not someone who will just sheep along and agree with others to keep people happy.

Yeah, I will be frank and flat out say I don't care for Tanooki's posts at all. He likely won't see this post as he has put me down as a "foe", but we got into it recently after he was spewing misinformed nonsense about Destiny and making rape jokes. Before that he got pissy when, again, he was making claims that made no sense and that threw a bitch fit after we called him out on it.

I learned from some folks he was banned at Nintendo Age. I don't know why that was, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was because his presence was cancerous.
